Dennis Kucinich's admission in Tuesday's Democratic Presidential debate that he saw a UFO has precipitated a massive response on the blogs, cable news and talk radio.

In fact, a lot of people know how Kucinich feels.
From CBS:
But while politicians may laugh at UFO sightings, millions of Americans apparently aren't in on the joke. 34 percent of Americans say they believe in ghosts, according to a pre-Halloween poll by The Associated Press and Ipsos. That's the same proportion who believe in unidentified flying objects - or UFOs- exceeding the 19 percent who accept the existence of spells or witchcraft.

Was the question even fair game in a presidential forum? Kucinich says it was. In an interview after the debates, he said that he's willing to answer any question.

Popular blogger The Bad Astronomer (who actually has a PhD in astronomy) is a Kucinich fan, but is disappointed by Kucinich saying he saw a UFO.

"I think the man has some great ideas," the Bad Astronomer wrote, "so I think he would be better in an advisory position to the President as opposed to being in the Office itself - as long as his advice sticks to politics, and not Roswell."

TPM dug up an interesting article from the Cleveland Plain Dealer in 2003, in which Kucinich discusses UFOs and weaponizing space.
