NY Won't Give Licenses to Illegal Immigrants

This is one of the most absurd view points related to immigration I have seen. The idea to validate illegal persons in this country by giving them licenses is detrimental to the message 80% of Americans want to convey to immigrants. That message is clear: Come here legally or not at all. Do you really think that illegal persons that are working illegal jobs are going to be concerned enough to get insurance just because they have a license? Why should they? If they get into an accident there is nothing anyone can do to them whether they have insurance or not ----after all they are not even officially here. Furthermore, do you think the 6.00$ an hour illegal job they have will give them means to afford the car insurance? Point - regardless of licenses illegal persons will not get insurance. Licenses will send the message to those who think they are above our laws “hey come on over we will pretend you are not here and give you a license to prove it.” What makes the road less safe is the fact they are here illegal, period. State officials do not want to make the time to enforce laws that already exist. All legal mumbo jumbo that might confuse you aside the law is this, civil servants take an oath to uphold and enforce all laws. Thus, whether it is a person assaulting another, robbing a bank, J-walking, or trespassing (illegal’s) civil officers have a duty and obligation to arrest and detain that person for due process. Due process is simple- produce proof of citizenship or be deported. It would not be a speedy process to obtain illegal persons but it is a simple one. If they can not find work, if they can not buy a car, if they are seen in our medical facilities for critical care then they are treated and reported, and if they can not lease or buy property they will either be reported trying to do these things and detained or not come here due to the cessation of above mentioned fringe benefits .
The only thing ludicrous is your willingness to accept people with open arms who do not abide by our laws.

Drivers licenses in the USA are granted by state laws, so each state will have to decide, not withstanding if the recipient is legal or not according to Federal law.This would be a good case for a Law school at a good University to look into. As i see it, if all drivers licenses were federally granted , no problem would exist to keep track of the illegal population, but the states would probably opose such a measure for its other residents.Besides people would be intimidated thinking it would be big brother controling. What a problem, no wonder Ms Clinton could not answere the question when asked of her. This question has no solution yet.

First of all, does the word "illegal" mean ANYTHING to you? I think not; and, in addition, when the muslims coming across the border with the other illegals blow up your family maybe then, but only then, will you begin to see the truth. Second of all, no United States Citizens would be intimidated by the "big brother controling" of having to get a drivers lisence. And last of all, the only reason ms clinton wouldn't answer the qustion is because either A. She couldn't FIND the answer, or B. So you won't be able to tie her down to actually saying what she really thinks.

the answer is clear and defined above. This would not be the first issue that takes state and fed cooperation. Did we as a nation allow slavery to continue just because a few states thought African Americans were of no value--No! If something is illegal then by God its ILLEGAL. A state dosent allow/protect fed tax evasion just because its fed and not state. States are obligated under federal law to not allow san. in thier states. Illegals are tresspassing,PERIOD. Whether you see that as tresspassing on state land or fed land its both the same and both will have to work as one to halt and return illegals.

If illegals can't speak English, can't read English, how is this world are they supposed to read street signs and road signs???? They should be held accountable just as Americans, if they don't have insurance or licenses and get in a wreck which is their fault, and how can it not be, when they can't read English, then ship them home or put them in jail. Shipping them home would be much much better.

By the way FYI: Huckabee wanted to give kids of illegal's breaks on school tuition.

Romney and Tancredo are the only two that have a no tolerance policy on illegal immigration.
Romney as gov turned down the same proposal to give illegal's children school tuition breaks that Huckabee embraced. He also wants a ID card that would weed out illegals from being able to get the fringe benefits they enjoy now.

It's so funny that the illegal immigration subject is even a debate. I don't care if there working our "undesirable" jobs. Good Americans have carried those same jobs in the past. If they can kill someone and then flee across the border and have there be no legal retribution then I want them stopped at the border from ever coming here. If they have it so bad in Mexico then they need to think about the cultural implications of why it's that way. For some reason I don't think the economy is the only reason that country is drowning in it's own filth.

With the transportation industry in a funk right now, let's bypass W's "Open Borders" philosophy (and his father's One-World ideology that brought us NAFTA and exported American prosperity and jobs,etc) and we can keep the trucks and bus lines busy transporting 12 million or more illegals back to the border. To hell with racial profiling. If we could arbitrarily grab people of Japanese descent and toss them into camps during WW2, then we could sure as hell patrol neighborhoods, demand verifiable proof of citizenship, and export their whining, 3rd world asses back from whence they came.

The worst city in the US for hostile drivers is Miami FL. I lived there and the cause of the hostility is Cuban and Mexican drivers. They are rude, mean, and nasty in their driving and other aspects of their interaction with Anglos. Want to visit a foreign country go to Miami.
