Lou Dobbs to Enter Race?
Firebrand populist television host Lou Dobbs is rumored to be considering a run for the presidency. The nightly purveyor of common sense when it comes to dollars and cents, Mr. Dobbs portrays himself as centrist and a champion of the middle class. His signature topics (and the ones that generate the highest ratings) are illegal immigration, and what he considers bogus free trade agreements. So who is the source for the presidential rumors? Mr. Dobbs himself, of course. As the Wall Street Journal reports:
Dobbs posted a commentary on his Web site last week predicting a surprise new candidate in 2008. The mystery candidate is an "independent populist . . . who understands the genius of this country lies in the hearts and minds of its people and not in the prerogatives and power of its elites."
PD toolbar!Yes, the web is abuzz with excitement. Meaningless, online petitions have been started. The middle class is getting fired up. Google "Lou Dobbs running for president" and see what happens.
Mr. Dobbs seems to be following the Ross Perot road-map. Wait for the presidential primaries to start, then jump in and steal all the thunder. Until then, like Stephen Colbert before him, he's got the TV gig for nightly promotion. So expect Dobbs to play the tease for a little while longer, at least. It's good for ratings, after all, not to mention book sales.
Speaking of books, in Dobbs' new tome "Independents Day: Awakening the American Spirit," Lou D. has had something of a vision about our next president:
"I believe that independent Americans will demand a far better choice than any of the candidates now seeking their party's nomination. I believe next November's surprise will be the election of a man or woman of great character, vision and accomplishment, a candidate who has not yet entered the race."Oh my! Could this mean? Geraldo in '08!

Dear Lou,
I have been listening to Wolfe Blitzer and was very surprized at CNN for making no comment about what is being said about Florida delegates having a 1/2 votes. When our constitution was written, if I recall correctly, women were not counted, Native Americans were not counts and black slaves were counted as 1/2 vote.
Now we have the first Female candidate, the first Black candidate and both campaigns are considering not letting 1 person 1 vote count. It sounds like we have gone backwards. What have we all been fighting for all these years, female and blacks alike that we would say this. What is the matter with CNN not pouncing on this and asking this question? What has happened to government BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE. People went to the poles and voted. Period. All votes shoud be counted and not minipulated. KISS-

Lou Dobbs outshines canditates from both parties. It would be refresing to have a president that could walk up to a map find Poland and be able to discuss it econmic status in the world and its inportance in world demoracy(problably could do it without idiot notes). GO LOU!

I'd vote for Lou if he ran, but he's too smart to do so. When you run, you sacrifice your soul to the people financing the campaign. Then find yourself mired in the quick sand of self-interest in Washington.
He is doing what he does best and is best working as a monitor to keep our government and corporations on the right track.
In office, he wouldn't be able to do this anymore. He'd make a fine President, but he's serving the country already doing what he does now.

Lou Dobbs is a low-life, racist, piece of scum of who doesn't understand that if you are white, and your primary language is English, and your humble abode is not within the grassy confines of either England, Ireland, or Scotland, not only are you somewhere you do not belong, you are somewhere you are not welcome. He is to leave the Mexicans alone; or he can and will sufferr the consequences. it is just that simple. Most Mexicans are part Native. He needs to trace his nasty, white, and European roots, and see who is closer to home. he has about as much credibility as Rush Li-Bimbo does. in an interview on 60 minutes he was tld point blank by Lesly Stall a report that his show had was wrong. his answer: if we reported it it is correct

Yes, I would definitely vote for Lou Dobbs. He is honest, knows exactly what he is talking about and isn't afraid to tell all the viewers. Also he gets annoyed just like the rest of us which shows that he isn't just another "newsman". As a matter of fact when all this political stuff is over I intend to register as an Independent. I will always favor the Democrats, never the Republicans. The Dems will have to prove to me that I will want to vote for them.
