Thompson Says Fox News Biased Against Him
In a somewhat contentious interview with Chris Wallace on FNS this morning (similar in tone to the Wallace/Clinton interview some months ago), Fred Thompson accused Chris and Fox News of skewing polling information and highlighting his negatives in their promo for the spot. Money quote from the clip:
THOMPSON: (snip)...So I understand the game of build-up and I understand the game of take-down. And we all go through it. And I'm perfectly willing for you to do that with regard to me as you do the other candidates.
WALLACE: I was going to say, Senator...
THOMPSON: But you have the right to put in your one side, and put in the Fox side, and I have the right to respond to it. And thankfully, you've given me that opportunity.
I had mentioned in an earlier post here, it's becoming almost conventional wisdom now that Fox News is all about Rudy. Previously Romney and McCain had bitched that Fox would not allow them to use debate footage for their campaign ads and now Freddy takes issue with the Rudy bias as well. Good on 'em all! Fox can't go around calling itself a legitimate news organization while continuing to promote the agendas of hand-picked politicians and issues.

"Fox can't go around calling itself a legitimate news organization while continuing to promote the agendas of hand-picked politicians and issues."
As compared to CNN or CBS who shill for Clinton? What makes then "legitimate news organization[s]" and not Fox?
(Note: I am a Fred Head and agree with his critique, but appreciate the fact that Fox daily has Fred Barnes as well as Mort Kondracke on the same show showing respect for each other)

Well, I suspect that Kondracke would identify himself as a Dem, though probably not on-air. But let's set him aside. How about Mara Liasson and Juan Williams (usually two of the three appear on a daily basis on Special Report and on Fox News Sunday). Both of these are about as left as you can get (without being in the Moveon strain of the party, though Juan is probably close on certain issues). While Brit Hume calls foul from time to time, they all treat each other very respectfully.

I get up really early and have tried unsuccessfully to post on your opinion...I'm guessing it just appeared and the link wasn't complete yet.
But, as there are comments already, I'll assume this will get through! You have brought up many topics worth discussing and I appreciate that.
Today's topic at hand I kind of find amusing. Fox has always been conservative since I can remember, but the "Rudy bias" is a little over-the-top.

I believe they actually think they can. They have done it for some time now...not just with Rudy. I guess what it comes down to is the intelligence of their audience to see it for what it really is. It's not news anymore; it's entertainment.
If I were a candidate, other than Rudy, I simply would not go on that show. Why set yourself up like that? I don't think it is bravery so much on the politician's side as it is cowardice on Fox News side.

I am against having a unhealthy President. Thompson has cancer. Cancer is in the blood. We need a healthy president to keep up with the rigors of being president with all that responsibility of 24-7. We do not need a president in chemo or in the hospital. We do not need a president that has to have the Vice president run the country for him.

Listening to Fox news can be educational but am afraid that I listen to many news stations taking turns and read two newspapers. Being able to pick the good from the bad or which political party rhetoric is correct or right becomes a challenge. We cannot know it all. Believing all the candiates of any of them is a challenge. Fred Thompson has many minuses against him other then Fox news. Which candidate that will make a good president is anyone guess right now. None inspire me.

Fred Thompson is not good enough to be our president. He does not have enough polish, education, intelligence, and frankly he looks like an ugly slob. His stripper wife is also a BIG MINUS. Just listen to him when he opens his mouth and sounds like a hayseed with no clue about how to run that office.

Time to grow up, Fred. You are playing in the big leagues now. Your attack of Chris Wallace was not flattering. Krauthammer and Barnes offered honest critique of your lame campaign, and you decide to take it out on Wallace and Fox News.

Brian Williams parody of the Democratic field on Saturday Night Live was funny, in large measure, because of how true it was.
Criticism of the most recent debate echoed Brian Williams parody in that the audience was stocked with Hillary supporters and the "Big Three" garndered most of the air time.
Fred Thompson's campaign is faltering and he is quickly becoming an also ran. Chris Wallance called him on that and, predictably, Thompson did not like it. This is in sharp contrast to the softballs Chris Matthews has consistently tossed at the Democratic field.
The facts are debates on FOX have had more viewers than any single debate on any "legitimate" news organization.

The main stream medium has been definately Democratic always and the good thing about FOX is that it is finally reporting the news from both sides and by both Dems and Rep reporters and their view points added. That is the way we need to hear it. It's time.
