Fact is, the Republican party mainly consist of conservative voters. Most conservatives are not going to vote for a candidate that wants to eradicate the Social Security /Medicaid/IRS programs, destabilize the military, and isolate us from foreign trade. The hookers and “skin heads” that love Ron Paul will be sorely disappointed. Ron Paul will never succeed at being the Republican nominee. He will run as an Independent in 08. I think this will be the ACE in Clintons pocket. Ron Paul will be Hills Ross P. He will take just enough votes to ensure Clinton the win. I only hope that Republicans don’t take the bait.
It’s no wonder he raised 9 million. You dangle the “no taxes” worm in front of a pool of greedy little fish and they bite hard. Sadly, they don’t see the big steel hook until it’s to late.

Most of us are just good old fashioned conservatives with a love of liberty and a disdain for oppressive government.

Ron Paul has said repeatedly that he will not run 3rd party. He has said why (because the election laws are written to exclude 3rd parties.)

If Ron Paul gets the nomination, then he will be Hillary's worst nightmare. Ron Paul is pro-Iraq war, pro-Constitution, anti-corporate subsides, and pro-drug peace (keeping the feds out, and letting states do as they see fit.) Hillary voted for the Iraq war, and for the so-called "Patriot act", has promised to keep troops in Iraq until 2013, was a board member of both Wal-mart and Tyson (and has voted yes on every subsidy package that came down the pike) and she is a drug-warrior.

There is no Blood-test for being in the Republican party. All of Ron Paul's supporters have either registered republican, or live in states with open primaries. Ron Paul will win NH for sure, and might even beat Huckabee in Iowa.

I hardly see consolidating our thinly spread-out military to a defense role (which is their primary purpose) as destabilizing. The Roman Empire and colonial England both learned hwo destabilizing it is to spread yourself too thin for the cause of empire.

Our use of sactions and military force is what isolates us. Ron Paul supports true free trade... not trade regulated and controlled by extra-national foreign bodies.

Hillary, unfortunately, will easily beat any of the pro-war Republicans without any help from Ron Paul. The personal income tax does nothing but pay interest on our out of control national debt. Our federal government is like a 13 year old girl with a credit card. Instead of dealing with the real problem, I suppose you endorse increasing that debt even further and placing the burden of it on generations to come. Brilliant.

The fact of the matter is... as much as you'd like to fund 700+ US bases on foreign soil... it's a luxury we cannot afford. It's time to return to reality and start digging ourselves out of this hole.

I can't vote 'cause I'm currently an Aussie living in the US, but I do understand politics and foreign policy to a modest extent. Whenever I hear anyone talk negatively about Ron Paul whether it's a news article or a comment, or even something on CNN he seems to be the only candidate that people simply don't tell the truth about. Either they're uninformed and feel like their uninformed opinion matters or just simply just attempt to smear. Like the guy/girl who has commented before me 1-4-Romney for example using "isolate us from foreign trade" or "destabilize the military". I can't remember Ron Paul saying he want to destabilize the military, he just has a different opinion (and an educated/experienced opinion) on foreign policy. Isolation from foreign trade is just the opposite of what he has said repeatedly what he plans to do. So I may as well say Romney is for injecting HIV into all Americans. hahaha.

Fact is, if the main voter in the republican party were conservative then a vote for Rudy or Mitt wouldn't be a conservative vote at all. Both are for Big Govt spending, and talk/vote/spend like the best the Democrats have to offer. While there tactic is deficits, and the Democrats are taxes. Regardless indirect of direct the only money Govt has is from taxes.

I love the comment about Ron Paul being an isolationist, when he wants trade and commerce with all countries, we have been isolating ourselves right now under these policies currently. FACT IS, the more these things are said a better chance people have to disseminate what they are hearing. These false claims dont hold any water in any circle of common sense.

Ron Paul had thousands attending his rallies in Nevada last week. This blog is incorrect by claiming that it takes a ridiculous story like this to get attention there.

Um, first of all, that wasn't an endorsement conference. That was just a press conference, and the media decided to gah over the dude since he was there (thanks, tucker!)

Ron Paul isnt getting rid of social security, he's allowing young people to opt out.Don't worry, the boomer generation isn't affected. As for medicaid, it needs to stop feeding on the teat, and get competitive.The amount of money that can be saved by a competive market is worth having. Ron Paul and I have a parting of the ways when it comes to the idea of universal healthcare. I'm for it all the way, but I also realize that the States is not in the position to have it. In Canada, they are very firm about what they will pay for drugs and medications. Lobby groups in the States have caused the average American to pay far higher costs than the rest of the world. The entire system needs to know that the American people will not pay higher than the rest of the world for services and medications. Also, the FDA needs an overhaul. I'm not happy that they want to include health supplements under the umbrella of drugs. Getting a prescription for vitamins is just corrupt.

1-4, don't worry: people know the truth, rather than the smear-and-scare tactics you think count as truth.

I find it hard to utilize the military in a defense purpose if you are so confined to the US soil alone. Doing so is not playing defense- its strictly offence. Read up on what the US Generals of our country say on this matter. Putting the US military in a confined space can be compared to Pearl Harbor. You put all your military in the confines of a globally small area such as the US and it would be very easy for a technically advanced enemy to “wipe you out.” Do we never learn from past mistakes?

It is political fact. Ross P. took votes that would have went Republican. Therefore, he ensured B. Clinton the win. I think you need to get off the Ron Paul sites and start looking at the history of your country. I stand by my theory that Ron Paul would ensure a Clinton victory, if he runs third party. Whether, she will win without that factor, I do not know.

No, what is brilliant is the fact you know so little about what income taxes support.
Income taxes are what assist in running your government and it’s programs. By the way, the government is what keeps you free and with the ability to write this bull. Programs like Medicaid, SSI, IRS are flawed but necessary. That is, unless you want to tell the paraplegic guy hit by a drunk driver that he cant have his SSI because you don’t want to pay taxes or the mothers like me (who can not work and care for a totally disabled child) that their kids can’t see a doctor or get SSI because you don’t want to pay taxes. It is people like you that have the ego mania, anal retentive, and Me.. Me.. Me.., attitude that cause so much sadness and need in America.

Ron Paul does want to abolish the Social Security System. Are you so dense to not comprehend if there is no money going in then there will be no money going out???? Yes, he said he will take care of current retire age citizens but what will come of those to irresponsible to save? What will come of the handicapped that depend on SS program? Do not fool yourself into believing that is not abolishing a program and leaving people dependent (by no fault of their own) destitute to starve and do with out medical care.
Ron Paul, if elected will never pass these kooky ideas he has in Congress but I do want voters to be aware of his plans and how fanatical his thoughts are.
