Talk to angry voters these days and they all say the same thing: "We need a change." A change to what?
Sure, the economy isn't doing so great in the United States today. We are having some trouble with the wars. The dollar isn't worth so much. Our kids are pretty dumb when it comes to math, science and reading. Maybe a few million U.S. middle-class families are losing their homes to foreclosure. And sure, working-class wages have been stagnant for seven years.
But what are we supposed to do, go communist or something?

The medicine for our current malaise, according to leading international investment bankers and defense-industry CEOs, is to "stay the course."
Stability is the most important thing in maintaining the status quo, experts say, and that's why all the best and brightest minds encourage American voters to continue nearly three decades of Bush-Clinton rule in the White House by putting a Clinton back in power next year, and then probably putting another Bush in power in 2016, and then another Clinton in 2024.
Since the election of 1980, intelligent voters have understood the importance of having a Bush or Clinton in the White House. It just makes sense for America.
It was way back in January of 1981 that George "Herbert Walker" Bush became vice president. He didn't seem like much then, but "Bush 41" wound up spending 12 years in the White House and even became the official president in 1988.
Next up was Bush's "opponent," Bill Clinton. A lot of people weren't happy with Bush or Clinton, which is why they wasted their votes on Ross Perot and gave Clinton eight years in the White House, until Bill gave the keys back to the Bush Family in January 2001.
Can you really imagine America without a Bush or Clinton being president? People under 30 years old can't even remember when "President" didn't end in "Bush" or "Clinton."
So let's maintain our traditional political values and keep hope alive, by electing whichever candidate currently has "Bush" or "Clinton" for a last name. This is what the Constitution is all about.

Great scathing assessment!

It's nice to know that nobody really has "the" solution. In 2004, I realized that our options are only as good as those that choose to run for President...Republicans and Democrats. Candidates across the board have talked about this idea of "change", but none of them are "it".
It's been fun watching how hard they have tried to distinguish themselves from one another on the smallest details. Sure, there is always the great ideological divide between Republicans and Democrats.
You can look at our choices two ways: Who is going to do the least amount of damage?...or...Who offers you the best hope for the direction you want the US to head?
That's right, you can be pessimistic or optimistic...but, these ARE the people we have to choose from. Maybe 2012 will offer up something new? The answer may come from people being a little more politically-inclined during the next Administration...it will help set the agenda for 2012. If you wait until the next Presidential election, expect more of the same.

The only thing that will save us from ourselves is the truth. If nobody can offer a brighter vision of the future than a Clinton or a Bush, the viva la Revolution. This looks like a change election that may throw the bums out on both sides. I feel bad because Democrats won in 2000, 2004, and 2006. All the momentum was pointed in our direction, but they screwed it up because they don't stand for anything. Action speaks louder than words. All I need to say is "Sandy Berger!"

Kenny, baby, have you forgotten that those of us in the comfortable white middle class rarely think things are as bad as you liberal white media types say it is ...
Most people are working, most students are learning enough to get nice middle class jobs, most of us still like our 401K performance, and we still have health care, and the equity in our house is still fine, and we're still getting raises, and we haven't been attacked in six years, and now even you liberal media people are telling us the surge is working.

NOTHING will change until we elect someone who believes in AMERICAN SOVEREIGNTY, a return to following the CONSTITUTION and putting THIS COUNTRY'S CITIZENS FIRST. We can do that by electing RON PAUL as president. No more of the same old 'follow the money' PAC-CONSUMED ELITISTS OF BOTH PARTIES, who have SOLD OUT THIS COUNTRY AND ITS CITIZENS. END the status quo and VOTE FOR RON PAUL!

A blimp in every pot! What me need is more Ken Laynes in politics. I'm sure there were humorist in pre Nazi germany (before all expenses paid vacations to Treblinka). I've been a democrat forever but even I can be wrong. I think Ron Paul is more of a idealogy than fact (sadly) but to be credible, but to be viable, his overzealous campaigner need to calm down a bit. If people want to wake up the sleeping (drunk) masses from the sleep they've been in-write your representative, congressman etc. about the "American Freedom Agenda Act hr.3835". It's sad to hear people bitch and moan without doing something about it. Most people don't know and don't care. Get up and do something, crawdads.
