Clinton Volunteer Ousted For Dirty Tricks

Bad few weeks in the Hillary camp, what with her plunging poll numbers and the kerfuffle over possibly planted questions. Now comes word that a Clinton volunteer has been up to no good in Iowa.

Remember the (spurious) claim that Barack Obama attended a Muslim madrassa as a child? It's been debunked over and over, yet still the rumor won't die, fueled mostly by political enemies. Turns out one of those enemies is part of the Clinton campaign, as a county coordinator. Or was, I should say, since the culprit has been asked to step down. The person's name hasn't been released but he/she is accused of forwarding an email chain pushing the tiresome Obama/radical Muslim thing.

Hillary's people are clamoring to distance themselves from the guilty party, claiming they knew nothing about the sordid business. There's no reason to doubt them but it's just another one of those unseemly campaign practices that no candidate wants to be linked to and which some Republicans will jump all over.

The most interesting part of the story is how the malefactor was found out by a diarist over at Daily Kos. It's hard to hide out there on the internet.
