Huckabee's Rise Continues

Huckabee is the guy Hillary wants to face. She can pound him into a little easy to handle box and win 55 vs 45. That's why he is gaining ground - the media wills it and so it shall be.

On the other hand, after the one-on-one debates late in the race, Hunter or Thompson would easily make the race end the other way. 55% Hunter or Thompson and 45% for Hillary. They are the true heirs to Reagan and the media will rain death upon them and so shall THAT be. Don't plan on hearing much about these two Reaganites from mainstream media (unless it's negative).

The other campaigns do not have to hit this guy hard. It is incidents like this that prove he is not presidential material. ---- Questioned by reporters this week, Huckabee was unaware of a report released by the White House saying Iran had halted its nuclear weapons program. President Bush had held a news conference about the report, and Democrats had focused on it in a debate.
Huckabee said he'd been campaigning so hard in Iowa, he hadn't had time to read the newspaper or be briefed. And he said that probably would happen again.- from AP press release.

His past is clearly going to haunt him very soon ie: ethics violations, Wayne D. release. etc. The reason he looks squeaky clean is because up until last week he was a non-factor in this race. Now people are going to start researching him and be in shock. He is far from the Christian he portrays himself to be.

It's great to see a genuine conservative like Mike Huckabee rising in the polls. In terms of electability against Hillary Clinton, polls show that he should do just fine. He's already beaten the Clinton political machine at home in Arkansas multiple times, and knows, more than any other Republican running, how the Clintons work. He's beaten them before, he can do it again next November.

Huckabee might win the Republican nomination, but he is not sophisticated enough to win the general election. In the 2000 election I unfortunately voted for a man that I thought had solid conservative and Christian quals even though the man did not have the intellectual capability to be an outstanding leader. That man, Bush, has done more to destroy the Republican party than any Democrat could ever have dreamed of. I think that Huckabee would follow in the grand tradition of Bush--nice guy, strong social and religous quals--but the wrong choice to lead our party.

On the day of the vote to release Dumond, Huckabee released a statement in support of the board’s action: “I concur with the board’s action and hope the lives of all those involved can move forward. The action of the board accomplishes what I sought to do in considering an earlier request for commutation ... In light of the action of the board, my original intent to commute the sentence to time served is no longer relevant.”

So, he can deny responsibility and blame the parole board but he just let them do his dirty work for him.

Well the Dumond case is already out, which shows that the attacks have already started. If Huckabee is still around two weeks from now I think he will have proven something.

Reaction to comment #1 I think Huckabee matches up very,very nicely against Hillary Clinton. He's loose and charming, she's stiff and very much not so. As it stands, he can get the moderate middle.

We've said all along, before anyone knew Huckabee existed, that he Huckabee and Romney are the team to beat. The problem was in getting Huckabee to see that he has much in common with Romney. It is amazing how bias and bigotry still rule the religious world--so many still think that getting to Heaven is a competition, and the survival of the fittest is what it's all about it---clamoring for God's attention. When will be learn that those who serve with the most love and respect for their fellow beings, recognizing that we are all, evey one of us, brothers and sisters in a common cause. To God, there are no divisions, except how we treat each other and how we honor Him. Put these two good men together and well, the amoral, worldly, bought and paid for team of Clinton-Obama wouldn't stand a chance. Another day another Huckabee scandal.
Gov. Huckabee pardoned a demented killer named Glen Green without reading the killer's confession before he made Glen Green eligible for parole.

In usual Huckabee's fashion, the office didn't even contact the victim's family about the clemency. Although he's required to by the Constitution, the governor, as is his custom, won't say why he granted clemency to this crazed killer (over the unanimous objections of the Post-Prison Transfer Board).

"Huckabee is required by law to make certain notifications. When he does not, the pardon should be voidable."

"The people of the good state of Arkansas (and I really mean that) need to think seriously about impeachment."

When told that many people consider Huckabee Arkansas' worst governor in recent memory, Harris-Ritter replied, "No argument from me, and I am a Republican!"

Huckabee unstoppable? Is the truth unstoppable about Huckabee as one of the worst governors in recent memory?

And he wants to become President?

WHEN THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY CORONATES THE CLINTON'S which they will, it's a done deal, after the smoke and mirrors of a phoney campaign, a battle between good and evil, Huckabee (Good) and Clinton (Evil), would be a battle. The Devil & Daniel Webster. Only this time it would be the Witch & Huckabee.

An Independent view of the (2008) mess is that in no way should anyone vote for Hillary with Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, handing blank checks and unchecked power to the Clinton's that's scary, if not just insane. THAT WOULD CALL FOR A SPLIT TICKET, (GOP) EXECUTIVE AND DEMOCRATIC LEGISLATIVE, AND YOU TWO CAN FIGHT FOR THE FOUR TO EIGHT YEARS.

Mike Huckabee is a lighweight. He has shown this by his dodging on the Wayne Dumond incident and not being up to speed on foreign policy issues when questioned by reporters.
The religious right no doubt feels they have found their savior with Huckabee. The problem for him is we have had a relgious "born again" guy in the White House for the last eight years and he is currently unpopular with the majority of Americans.
Every four to eight years voters want a new direction for the country. Huckabee is just another George Bush in many ways. No thanks.

Even if Hillary wins the nomination. Huckabee will defeat her hands down. He is the only candidate with the experience defeating the corrupt clinton political machine of Arkansas. Billary fears losing again. Not only did Huckabee chase them out of Arkansas, he will chase both socialists out of this election.
