    Drudge: Dems Salivating for Huck

    Posted:
    12/11/07
Drudge has breaking news on the obvious:
Democrat party officials are avoiding any and all criticism of Republican presidential contender Mike Huckabee, insiders reveal.

The Democratic National Committee has told staffers to hold all fire, until he secures the party's nomination.

The directive has come down from the highest levels within the party, according to a top source.

Within the DNC, Huckabee is known as the "glass jaw -- and they're just waiting to break it."
Anyone who needed Drudge's inside Dem sources to confirm that needs therapy, but here is is nonetheless.

The Dems are now in danger of repeating the mistake the GOP made in 2004 -- signaling too soon who your preferred opponent is. Republicans were so sure Dean would win, and so giddy about the prospect, that they signaled it soon enough to help lead to an upset in Iowa.

The Dems are being much more savvy this time around, and it remains to be seen if Huck's softer supporters in Iowa come to their senses in time.

[Oh, and I'll save all the Ron Paul trolls the trouble of commenting on this post: "Ron Paul for President!" Not.]

Who do the Dems really fear?
    [DNC Press Release Attack Summary:

    Governor Mitt Romney (R-MA) – 37% (99 press releases)
    Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R-NY) – 28% (74)
    Senator John McCain (R-AZ) – 24% (64)
    Senator Fred Thompson (R-TN) – 8% (20)
    Governor Mike Huckabee – 2% (4)]
