News from Your 'Committed Left-Wing Media'*

The left-wing loonie New York Times reports that Weekly Standard Editor-in-Chief, former Time columnist and Fox News commentator Bill Kristol will join them as a columnist in January. Kristol, a committed Iraq War proponent and founder of the Project for a New America Century (PNAC) is obviously being rewarded for being wrong about just about everything.

Before agreeing to draw a paycheck from the NYT, Mr. Kristol didn't have alot of good things to say about the paper...

    (via ThinkProgress)

In 2006 when the NYT exposed a secret Bush administration program to monitor international banking transactions, Bill had this to say:

"I think it is an open question whether the Times itself should be prosecuted for this totally gratuitous revealing of an ongoing secret classified program that is part of the war on terror." [Fox News, 7/2/06]

    AND

"I think the Justice Department has an obligation to consider prosecution." [Fox News, 6/25/06]

And his overall impression of the newspaper as a vehicle for national information:
"Still, the simple truth is that a great democracy like ours deserves a first-rate newspaper of record. And the New York Times isn't it."

It's OK, Bill. I think Fox News and The Weekly Standard are pretty second-rate. You should feel good about it.

You can see some of his more endearing work here.
