Iowa Poll: Huck, Obama Lead

Huckabees “HOW LOW CAN YOU GO” politics will never benefit him in the long run. All of these blunders will be coupled by his unethical past and assure a Democrat victory.

His stunt yesterday showed just how manipulative and vindictive I have accused him of being. However, it also shed a new light on him as a coward. He is too cowardly to do his attack on Romney….too broke to give anything play……YET……He is manipulative and vindictive enough to use the FREE media to do his dirty work.

I saw a small clip of his ad on FOX (FOR FREE NONE THE LESS) and that clip said “Romney raised taxes.” Which is an outright lie. If you look up Romneys record, he raised FEES for LG CORPs…..like MCDonalds…..where he raised the fee for them to have a sign on road exits. WOW now I am really concerned for a billion dollar company getting a sm increase in fees so that MA citizens can have a balanced budget and low taxes!

Funny thing is Huckabee is mad at Romney for accurately describing Huckabees own record. Fact check it with INDEPENDENT research---Not from a Huckabee or Romney site and you will see the ad Romney aired is spot on.

HERE IS MY RESEARCH AND WHY I SAY ROMNEYS AD WAS FACTUAL:

#1 “As governor of Arkansas, Huckabee dramatically increased state spending. During his two-term tenure, spending increased by more than 65 percent — at three times the rate of inflation.”

“The number of government workers increased by 20 percent, and the state's debt services increased by nearly $1 billion. Huckabee financed his spending binge with higher taxes. Under his leadership, the average Arkansan's tax burden increased 47 percent, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, including increases in the state's gas, sales, income, and cigarette taxes. He raised taxes on everything from groceries to nursing home beds.
Huckabee answers these complaints by pointing out that he "cut taxes 94 times" while governor. True. But most of those tax cuts were tiny, like exempting residential lawn care from the sales tax. Some cuts reduced overall state revenues by as little as $15,000. On net, Huckabee increased state taxes by more than $500 million. In fact, Huckabee increased taxes in the state by more than Bill Clinton did.”

“On its annual governor's report card, Cato gave Huckabee an "F" for fiscal policy during his final term, and an overall two-term grade of "D." Only four governors had worse scores, and 15 Democratic governors got higher grades, including well-known liberals like Ted Kulongoski of Oregon, Rod Blagojevich of Illinois, and Ed Rendell of Pennsylvania. Governor Romney has a fine record of accomplishment in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He enacted a first in the nation plan for covering people without Medical Insurance. His plan is so successful that it has been adopted by California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Democratic Presidential candidate Hilary Clinton.

This is the same plan that Mitt Romney is now denouncing as European style socialized medicine.

Why has the former Massachusetts Governor renounced his own program? Because it polls unfavorably among the GOP rank and file primary voters.

The GOP can support Romney and nominate him if they like, but people who are concerned about America have to ask themselves a serious question about Mitt Romney.

As President will Mitt Romney behave the way he did as Governor of Massachusetts, or will act the way he has campaigning nationally for President?

Does Mitt Romney have the backbone to stand up to those pressuring him in his own party and do what is right for America?

As seen by the lead commentator, there are all sorts of Institutes, studies and prominent people with statistics to show that Romney will perform.

But, watch the man- his constant shifts of opinion, his insistence that mistakes and misstatements are correct and his aloof, unresponsive campaign persona all indicate that he is not the one we need to lead post-Bush America.

I am very interested in the previous commenters "research" on Huckabee's record as Governor of Arkansas.

One has the question of what government does with the money as well as how much money government spends.

Arkansas has historically ranked in the high forties among the fifty states in the quality of its government and public services.

Arkansas needs more investment and resources to pull it up.

David Rockefeller a Republican and Bill Clinton a Democrat both recognized that. Mike Huckabee has as well.

As Governor, job one is assuring that state resources meet state needs. In Arkansas that has meant increasing resources. The simplistic will term that "spending" and criticize it.

A final thought concerning the Huckabee-Romney race.

Which candidate will help the GOP down ticket candidates?

Will slick Mitt Romney, the man with evolving principles or the former pastor Mike Huckabee be stronger in supporting the core values that will help GOP Congressional candidates in the Fall?

I am curious what it is you question. There are many states that need resources to meet needs. I live in MS one of the poorest states in the nation. So, I know all about a state that needs resources.

First of all I was not contrasting need or means.

I WAS POINTING OUT:

1- HUCK SAYS Romneys ad was a lie by claiming Huckabee was not a fiscal conservative.

2- THE TRUTH SAYS he was not a fiscal conservative. Justification was not my argument. To the nursing home patients, middle class families, smokers, people who drive to get to work, etc… justification does not matter all that matters is the higher taxes he imposed that brought DOWN THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE! Taxes on citizens do not have to be raised to provide resources. That is an excuse for a "box thinker" to make a budget LOOK BETTER on the surface!

The club for growth, Cato, etc…. all say Huckabee is not a fiscal conservative. Huckabee did not govern as a fiscal conservative even though he run for Gov on that pretext.

Now he is running for president as a fiscal conservative. If his words did not match his actions as Gov. then they will not match as president either. If he wants to match resources with needs…. at any cost he needs to run as a Democrat!

What is the curiosity about those of us that expect someone to run with congruency?
What is the curiosity about those of us who prove that Romneys ad was factual and Huckabee is forging a conservative record that is nonexistent?

The simplistic will justify bad means and incongruent stances by Huckabee with name calling and sour excuses just as their candidate does!

The critical thinkers will look at Huckabees record…..to see his stances now vs. then and see stark differences, lies, and abandonment of promises.

PS: I do not think AR is at the top of anyones list of "quality governments." AH....the Gov prior to Huck was impeached. Huckabee had 15 ethics c/o...5 of which were fined. Huckabee was sued by two AP reporters and settled for 15K. On and on....Clinton was accused of all sorts of bad politics. AR is not the example of ethics. If anything it is quite the opposite.

When the day is done and Huck or Obama wins the nomination, they will lose the election. A new unexpected runner will merge from a sleeping cell and take Hillary's voters, Edwards, and some independent. Why? Because we know that Huck is too religious, and Obama is too green around the ears. Even the devoted democratics and some republicans will vote for a moderate than a liberal and a born again christian. Get real! As for the national election, we concentrate on Iowa, NH and SC, that we really don't see that Huck and Obama are "Not" winning these states and since it the primary is so close in Feb, there is no way in hell they can win. In my opinion this is just the three states that "give" you the impression that the race is over. Please, remember the remaining states, americans!

What never ceases to amaze me in the lead up to the
caucuses in Iowa is the fact that Barrack Hussein
Obama has gotten so much mileage out of one vote in
Congress--the vote he made against the War in Iraq.
It apparently never occurs to anyone that Barack voted against the War, not because of some prescient
knowledge of what it would lead to, but rather because he had a secret sympathy for Muslims. He
never uses the word "Muslims" in his speeches; he
rather always refers to "terrorists" as if the two
were separate entities. Too, he certainly has missed
a lot of votes since he took office. That concerns
me as a voter. He was hired to do a job by voters.
Voting on different issues is part of that job.

Why are people so quick to judge everyone to be as cynical as THEY are... If you are one of those saying that Huckabee was pulling stunt obviously you didn't take the time to hear that his campaign manager was the one who instigated the negative ads and Huckabee just didn't think that was the way he wanted to "play ball". Then, it was again his campaign manager who said they should play them so the press would know they actually did exist. If he hadn't played them, the press would say they never existed. Seems, he can't win with this press. In addition, I would like to see how well Romney would be doing if he was running with a "shoestring" budget like Huck. This man is simply brilliant to be doing so well with such limited funds. He will do an equally great job running our country/
