McCain Jumps to Double Digit Lead

I had sat on the side lines after supporting him and being disappointed with Bush winning the nomination. I'm an independant. I've seen the comments on his stance on the war in Iraq (which I support). Yes, my son is in the 76 infantry brigade (my hero), so it does impact my life in a very personal way. I will support him heavily and recently signed up to work on his behalf. I had concerns about his age. I've watched him campaign with a schedule that I doubt I could keep up with. Like him or not, if you know his history you have to respect him.

Oh how easy we forget amnesty and the opposition to Bush tax cuts. In 2000 McCain was unelectable. He was not in line with the party. What has changed?- Nothing! McCain only gets worse with time....yet here we are listening to the liberal media & allowing a candidate that will never carry the boarder states or conservative base of Republicans.

Meanwhile, the other half of the GOP is voting for the unethical guy who can not pick out Pakistan on a map because he is too busy planning which criminals he will pardon.

So, Yeah lets all vote for McCain and Huckster....and we will either have Hill on the hill or Obama taxen' ur mama.

McCain sure has my support. He would be a great President and I think he is the only one who can beat Hillary or Obama. The GOP had better wise up and support him or we will be stuck with a democrat come November.

IT SEEMS TO BE MOVING IN THAT DIRECTION NOW, WHICH IS GOOD FOR THE COUNTRY.

Too bad McCain is a nut job with ptsd, he cannot get along with anyone, fights and uses profanity like a trucker. Is that how he would deal with heads of states. He gets nasty when under stress, well President would be a great job for him wouldn't it? He now claims to be a Baptist (very convenient with the southern votes coming up), except he told McClatchy News June 2007 he was Episcopalian. He was raised Episcopalian, went to Episcopal schools now he is Baptist Liar Liar. Does admit he was not baptised yet, well I think it is kind of important to get baptised in the Baptist church stupid.

Did anyone see the veterans supporting him, they all had on Korea hats, he better hope they all live long enough to get to the polls. He may not live much longer, looks like a mummy, He is too old for president and too nasty, cannot wait until he loses his famous temper on the campaign trail, it will happen.

I don't agree with everything DVK says above, but it is interesting with all the scrutiny Rudy Giuliani receives about his personal life, McCain does escape that same criticism. He admits to cheating with several women which lead to the break up of his first marriage. I personally don't care, and that would never stop me from voting for someone. But if the GOP crucifies Rudy over adultery, why not McCain.
I think the guy is just too old - he will be 72 this year - to be in the White House, particularly when we are talking potentially 8 years. Not to mention McCain has had health scares - prostate surgery, skin cancer.

Hey DVK, WHO's NASTY? McCain looks like a mummy because of his injuries he sustained when he was shot down in VIETNAM not Korea. His left arm broken, his right arm broken in three places and his knee busted were never treated properly. He was torchered by rope where they hang you by your arms so tight that your shoulder blades are toughing. He's 72, yeah but Reagan was older and wiser too. The veterans with the Korean hats, were probably some of his father's comrades and maybe you will see some other veterans with some WWII hats on as well, those would be the veterans (comrades) of his Grandfather. Who cares what religion he is and who cares how many times he has been married. You need to read your history books. and by the way, YOU ARE NASTY and should respect your elders and your veterans.

I predict neither McCain nor Huckabee will be the eventual Republican nominee. Both are LIBERALS. And real Republicans WILL NOT support either one. Just wait until the primaries move to the Sunbelt and conservative voters.

Mccain is for AMNESTY ! Romney is NOT. McCain is a little exciteable, Romney is not. Personaly I prefer an articulate guy to handle MY Country. They say Romney has flip flopped on issues, it proves he is
not a hard liner who will not listed to people's views. If you have a problem, I would rather have a guy who will negotiate rather than blunder forward.

Hey Patricia, who is shabby? Now you can call this wear and tear from five years as a POW but we all have eyes to see that once McCain returned home he was just as agile as anyone. Thus, he had the ability to keep up with his many years of philandering. Sorry, but your “he looks so old from POW camp” just don’t hold water. Anyone who has the energy to keep up affairs with women half his age is not someone who is limited by previous broken bones. He looks old because he is old. He looks aged from living an unclean lifestyle. His 2nd wife Cindy was a real beauty in her youth. However, the years she spent abusing drugs makes her now look like a shriveled up prune. I will add that a woman willing to steal RX drugs from her own charity is not the type of First Lady that I want representing American values to my children or other nations. What if she again decides to abuse her position and privileged lifestyle to do something illegal. Think of the embarrassment that would be to America.

I appreciate his military service and think he is a true patriot. However, my dad served in Nam and was also a POW and he is not voting for McCain. As a soldier himself my dad knows that being a soldier nor being a POW qualifies you to be president. My dad actually is very insulted that McCain cheapens what happened to many soldiers by using it as a leveraging tool to become president.

As for me…..I am not electing a president that’s sole qualification is military experience- and if I was I would elect a general or someone a lot higher up than McCain. However, the military is but one slice of a big pie. I want someone who has a unique knowledge & skill in each of the slices and can combine that knowledge & skill to make a scrumptious pie. John McCain is like a pie that’s only ingredient is the crust.
