    Just Say It Barack

Obama needs to stop talking like a senator. This is a perfect example:

"You know the former president, who I think all of us have a lot of regard for, has taken his advocacy on behalf of his wife to a level that I think is pretty troubling," Obama told ABC's "Good Morning America" in an interview taped Sunday and set to air Monday. "He continues to make statements that are not supported by the facts - whether it's about my record of opposition to the war in Iraq or our approach to organizing in Las Vegas. This has become a habit, and one of the things that we're gonna have to do is to directly confront Bill Clinton when he's making statements that are not factually accurate."

Which is exactly the nicey nice thing that senators say but goes right over the heads of real folks who wonder why politicians can't say what they mean. Just say it Barack: Bill Clinton lied. Hillary Clinton lied. The Clintons lie. They've been doing it for years. It's not as if this is a not blindingly obvious to anyone. Well, anyone who didn't live under a rock in the nineties.

The problem of course is that the Democratic party has been defending the Clintons for so long, that Obama has to walk a fine line. He needs to attack Clinton, but the most obvious lines of attack sound like Republican talking points.

Oh and speaking of that, Obama also defended his praise of Ronald Reagan, but clarified further:

"What I said was Ronald Reagan, back in the 1980s, was able to tap into the discontent of the American people," Obama said. "There were Reagan Democrats. So what I said is we need to tap into the discontent of Republicans. I want some Obama Republicans. I want 'Obamacans.'"

Which is a great way to turn what sounded like pure praise for Ronald Reagan. And for the record, Obama was right and is right here as well. Hillary Clinton is not going to be able to pull discontented Republicans at all. For the record, I don't think Obama could either, but he has a much better shot at it.

I don't think Obama has a chance, but he's making it interesting. Go Obama!
