In perhaps the most devastating demographic exit polling defeat in this election, if not the history of this great nation, Barack Obama, who enjoyed broad support across most groups, was unable to secure the "Himself"-Girl vote. From The New York Times' City Room:
On Tuesday night, City Room ran into Ms. Ettinger ("Obama Girl" Amber Lee) at an election-watching party in Greenwich Village and asked how things went at the polls.
"I didn't get a chance to vote today because I'm not registered to vote in New York," she said.
Normally, I am the first person to jump all over someone for not voting, especially an outspoken figure like Amber Lee Ettinger, but it may surprise you that this reporter is coming to the Senatorial Siren's defense. First of all, according to the same report, she was ill, and unable to make the trek to the polls. Secondly, it's only a primary. But most importantly, it turns out Obama Girl is also a Jersey Girl. Game over.
To those who would accuse her of a hedge against the possibility of a Clinton win, and the attendant offer of a cabinet post, or who would point out that she managed to venture out into the night for an election returns party, and to those who say that the Romney Girls were right about her, I say to you, with every fiber of my beating American heart, "At long last, have you left no sense of decency?"
Get the new PD toolbar!Update: Sandy, where have you been? I haven't heard from you in awhile. Glad to hear you voted for Clinton, but surprised you only voted once, LOL. You are right, of course, I am sure Amber has persuaded many more people to vote for Barack than the one vote she missed. Since she's a fellow Jerseyite, I will make a standing offer to get her to the polls come November. It's the least I can do for my country.
Barack Obama is the best candidate for the job and the people who don't like Barack are racist assholes who need to move out of the country. Why do we still have racist people today who don't want to vote for the best candidate Barack just because he's black. You racist bastards need to have your citizenship taken away from you. Hillary is not a good candidate, she voted for the war and lobbist. She is not stable and could never run the country, not even close to what Barack Obama could do. If you can't even control your husband than how can I trust you to run an entire country. Also Bill Clinton need to SIT THE FUCK DOWN AND SHUT UP YOU ALREADY HAD YOUR CHANCE YOUR DONE. wAKE uP PEOPLE (OBAMA IS THE TRUTH).

Tommy Christopher,
Very funny! I loved the humor here and, well, life does happen to us all. Amber probably did more for Obama than her one vote would have counted for anyhow.
I will bet Romney Girl did vote and has argued some very good points over time on this site that may have helped her candidate as well. Personally, I left nothing to chance and voted Permanent Absentee and returned my ballot weeks in advance of California's Primary. Sen. Clinton did very well here indeed.
Sincerely and respectfully,
Mr. Clark

I will be voting for Clinton. Obama is for giving drivers license to the illegals. And being from Texas, we deal with the illegals every day. And don't listen to those who say they do the jobs that Americans will not do. What do you call doing electrical, plumbing, and etc. If it were just doing manual farm labor, perhaps to believe that they better think again. The last thing these illegals need are drivers license! Then when the elections were held back in 2000, I was appalled when the younger voters thought that George W. Bush was great. Where was George when Kerry was risking his life for his buddies? George was out drinking and having a great time. So who would I have expected to protect me? Not George! Here the younger voters are doing the exact same thing. They go after the speaker who sounds so great. When the Obama group claimed Clinton was using the race card, I listened to her speech, no where could that be farther from the truth. What if Obama were the president and he misunderstood what a foreign dignitary said? Are we putting our faith in someone who misconstruded what Clinton said? Then to insinuate that Clinton's husband would tell his wife what to do. Give me a break!! All the presidents wives have had their say. To think otherwise would be ridiculous! wanda

Wow! Hillary beeatch-slapped Oprah and Teddy in one broad swipe in both California and MA. lolol
While these two dummies jumped on board Obama's speeding tricycle no questions asked, America sent a clear message that we want a great leader - not just a great speech-maker.
HILLARY '08 Despite Oprah and Teddy

It has been a hard 8 yrs. to say the least. We should not take a chance on voting for Democrat Obama who is without experience. With problems at home and with an uprise in Africa, I don't want to see our troops dying in Africa just as I don't want to continue the war in Iraq for 100 years if McCain gets elected. Obama is an eloquent speaker and at his age has time to prove himself and is someone to look forward to in 8 years. We have to all rally together to get Hillary elected. Start by digging in your pocket no matter how small the amount, it all adds up. It's a cheap way to pay for a strong future.

I vote Hillary, I did want to vote for Obama because he is black. after all the Clinton's did well while they were in office and even gave Harlem recognition by butting an office their. I am Glad she won NY. On the other hand on what criterion does Oprah judge Obama to be brilliant, I would ask, is he as brilliant as the fake author she allowed to become rich based on lies in his book. What has he done to call him brilliant. She seem to put her money where her heart is. Too bad his is taken. Hllary for "08" Oprah.

Wow John, that can be Obama's new slogan:
"Vote for me or you are a racist asshole".
I guess when you have nothing else, playing the race card is not a bad idea. That's pretty much what you guys pull out if anyone says, for any reason, they don't want Obama as president.

Wandaelpaso all who have anti-illegal rhetoric can continue to rant like kicks from a drowning man, they will continue to come. As a Tahue and Acaxee my greatgrandparents wondered when Europeans would stop coming. They finally stopped and now they will be replaced by natives of this land. It's so sweet to see you wonder "when will they stop coming?" but fear not remember its MANIFEST DESTINY. It is so so sweet but don't fel bad I'm also for Clinton.

I will vote only for Hillary Clinton., who has the experience, bright and responsible person. To me , Obama is naive, brash, inexperienced and always praising himself. Why is he in a hurry to become the president of this country after two years in US senate. He talks about change, just shalow talk. I am not at all impressed by him. If he is the nominee of our democratic party, I will not vote for him, instead will vote for the first time, for Republican party nomonee.

This gives me hope, unfortunatly...Obama has yet to do more than give MLK-wannabe speeches with no real sustainance for anyone to have a clue as to the means and methods for him to achieve those loft speech promises. The new Generation that is soon to replace the Boomers have been raised on foo foo reality shows and entertainment disquised as "NEWS". I'm not surprised that they don't know how to get it together and actually VOTE because that would require purposely, responibly taking action. Not as convenient as fast food or as exciting as blathering niceties and waiting for someone ELSE to take action for you? -Just make an excuse, blame someone else and wait for life to happen, LOL.

All the blacks solidify behind Obama, even though his dad is Kenyan. They throw in lots of trash and messages pretending to be Hillary supporters and vote for Obama. Then, all these naive White were just being so divided to throw their supports behind Obama. Bingo! They got y'all! Obama will be standing their in January before you know it. You elect someone from nowhere, no experience, and got a Kenyan dad? Comeon, where is the White wisdom? You are just rolling the dice to someone you don't even realize his name is not even American, he is Barrack Hussein Obama. You hear? Wake up all you guys out there. You need to unify solidify your base support. You got someone with a big heart, with experience with lots to give. Donot be fooled by words. They are all words and action are hollow. That is what you will wake up with a black family and relatives all the way from Kenya in the white house. Let ring your conscience.

John, John, John.... I know it's frustrating when people don't agree with you or say ignorant things, but calling non-Obama supporters racist? That's just WRONG and the WHOLE POINT of Obama's run is that he is NOT about race. Whereas if you agree that their policy issues are not that far apart, Hillary IS running on gender, to be the first woman prez, and on bringing back the past. Being First Lady is NOT the same as being elected to office and talking over breakfast is not the same as policy advisor. She is not more experienced, and the experience she does have is negative. She single-handedly lost health care reform for us all. And she behaved so badly (she and Bill) in South Carolina that it was embarrassing. Texas -- you want to decide based on driver's licences -- I don't know. I'm a lonely Obama Jersey girl who does not want to have an accident with an unlicensed uninsured driver, so I don't see how that relates to taking away electrician's jobs. To me, what's important about Obama is his vision of who we could be as a country. He's inclusive, not divisive. And the very best thing about him so far is that he's got people INTERESTED whereas most Dems if they're honest were voting for Hillary but not happy about it. Young people may still stay in bed rather than vote but it's the first time their voice has been heard in a very very long time. My best to Obama Girl!
