    Barackula!

Barackula an online political rock-horror musical will soon be coming to your computer screen. That's right, a a rock-musical jazzing the fictional tale of a young Barack Obama fighting establishment vampires at Havard Law School. The musical has been filmed and is in post-production with directors promising it be released later this month.

The piece pitches Obama in battle with vamps who don't accept Barack's contention that opposing world-views can exist with each other.

Barakula's producer Mike Lawson says the film is a mixture of "Jesus Christ Superstar" and Michael Jackson's "Thriller." The piece culls its lyrics and context from Obama speeches and interviews. An example, the song "This is Our Time," a peppy song where the Obama character croons:

"We can talk about it / We can compromise
You don't have to suffer life that makes the man inside / We don't need any violence
We just need to unite / We can join together to make out future bright."

Peace, Love and Happiness. More lyric samples:

    "Chicago-community organizing / That's where I belong
I can't be a vampire / That is why I sing this song.
This is our time / We don't need to fight / We're not left or right / Diversion is something of the past."

The creators of Barackula suggest their intention was to create something unique and memorable for this election year and to produce a piece that would stand-out from the hordes of user-created pieces. I have no doubt they will succeed!
