What an exciting election year. what an exciting time. I am so glad to be a witness to it all.The speeches,tensions,endorsements,negative publicity,positive publicity, internet defamation, debates,humor,call for unity, end to war, fears and drama makes this election very special regardless of the outcome.

Who cares? Gore's endorsement is like that of Kerry and Kennedy: OLD AND TIRED. Kerry and Kennedy couldn't even deliver Mass for Obama. Let's face it,
Clinton has the big Democratic states. Obama has been winning in states that don't matter: they are strongly Republican and will vote Republican in November. Clinton carries the states that the Dems need: California, New York, Mass, New Jersey...soon Texas and Ohio. Gore means NOTHING.

I AM VERY GLAD BARACK OBAMA IS GETTING AN ENDORSEMENT FROM THE MAN THAT SHOULD BE PRESIDENT. I BELIEVE IT IS A STRONG ENDORSEMENT, AND I AM GLAD HE DID NOT ENDORSE HILLARY CLINTON.

I LIKE AL GORE HE IS MAKING A BIG MISTAKE BY BACKING OBAMA.

Barack Obama now has 981 delegates. Hillary has 1,060. There is a differance of 79 delegates. Obama is expected to win the next couple of primaries, which means he will be a few hundred delegates ahead of her. It is too close they say. He won 13 States she only won 8, on Super Tuesday. He has a lot more money being donated to him, she is having to take 5 million from her own accounts. He has the support of the people, which is why he will be getting the super delegates to back him. He will be our democratic canidate.

So, let's start there. "Success" I guess is very subjective. In California, we had to deal with the media's frenzy over Sen. Obama winning our state. Not only did he NOT win California, but he lost in Kennedy's home state as well. Oprah couldn't save him. Imagine the reality of watching Sen. Obama's vague "Yes we can" mantra played out with the ultimate Washington Insider at his side. "Change" didn't appear to be the motive for the endorsement. It didn't wash. Also, Kennedy brought along baggage because he didn't like the way the Clintons campaigned in South Carolina. A mixed message at best.

The media at large (and that includes The Political Machine) have run a virtual smear campaign on Sen. Clinton and hailed Sen. Obama as the "second coming".

Tommy Christopher wrote a very nice piece on Sen. Clinton early in the week. It was fair, balanced and he didn't need to attack anyone else to do it. Man, was that a treat.

So, Al Gore's endorsement is just going to look like sour grapes in my estimation. Is he really endorsing Sen. Obama because he believes in Sen. Obama or is he just being vindictive? THAT will be the question that will linger. Also, it diminishes his cause and could backfire for him personally. Some people pay very close to politics.

Despite the often rude childlike behavior of some that comment on this site, not everybody is uneducated and easily led. We all have our own "vetting" process. Sometimes it amazes me that the columnists who have been picked by AOL aren't a little more evenly split. It would make the coverage on here more compelling.

On The Political Machine, Sen. Clinton gets more coverage by far than any other candidate. Almost all of it is negative. A negative article pops up from The New York Times or The Washington Post about some dealings of Sen. Obama and there will not be a word mentioned on this site. Coincidence? I don't think so.

In my opinion, it turns people off just like negative attack ads on TV. Eventually, the blog's audience tunes out most of what the blog has to say. People like to make up their own minds. Well, that is my opinion anyhow.

So, back to Al Gore. His endorsement carries too much baggage. It could actually hurt Sen. Obama.

Hey Bamalv..exactly worked out great didn't it, I listened to Obama the other day give a speech I just don't get it he sounds like a preacher not a President he just doesn't move me..but boy does he owe alot of favors now. Sorry Gore you made a mistake

I believe Hillary Clinton has the experience and resume that Obama lacks.He is too inexperienced and can learn from this. In another 8yrs. maybe he will be ready to become President. He is still wet behind the ears.

Senator Obama is indeed an intelligent, well-spoken man, but are we forgetting here that he has only been involved in politics at the federal level for 3 brief years???? I do believe that he will make an excellent President...someday. The only candidate who has the experience & knowledge to get us out of this Bush/Cheney nightmare is HILLARY CLINTON!!! Senator Clinton has very specific, clear ideas about how to get things done in Washington DC, and Senator Obama, although a lovely speaker, has nothing behind his words! I think this position is too important to put a rookie in office! VOTE FOR HILLARY CLINTON!!!

America! look aroung Obama has no experice, and he cannot carry a national election, amercians do not always vote how they say they will when asked in public, this is because they do not want to seem racist. Obama will not carry a national election, entire generations of people will not be able to pull the lever for him.Read on the bradly effect and you will agree. Also why is the media not exposing his lack of white support and his lack of support out side of caucuses. ( which are public events, so people dont want to seem racist)Because he is a fairytale canidate, The media wants the underdog,comeback kid, against all odds kids. Well Obama is against all odd, and he is going to remain that way becuase the white base, the turns out in higher voting blocks of the democratic party will not support Obama, which will = mccain in the white house and your troops in Iraq for the next 20 years. So america take adcantage of mccain and his lack of support from the most energetic conservative wind of the GOP and put up Clinton so The party has shot at the white voting majority. This majority will have no problem voting for mccain he is moderate enough. all those white middle class votes that cant see a black man in office will go to mccain and he will go straight to the whitehouse. I think Gore's endorsement will mean a great deal in a campaign this close.

And don't count out the weight of the Kennedy endorsement.

Obama was trailing in both Mass and Ca and made up substantial ground in just a week after the Kennedy endorsement and hence his strong delegate totals.

Also, he would clearly win both CA and MA as the Democratic nominee.

Hillary is the one unelectable in the general election. she and bill have polarized and fractured the Democratic party.

it's a pretty sure bet that Obama supporters are not voting for Hillary. Neither are Republicans and neither are a lot of independents.

My plan and that of nearly everyone I know is Obama first and if he doesn't get the nomination, then McCain.

Karl Rove knew what he was doing when he engineered moving MCCain to the top of the Republican ticket.

Obama would be the only one who could draw enough votes to defeat him in the general election when all the anyone but Hillary forces are mobilized.

Gore represented Tennessee which Hillary Clinton won.

His endorsement, should he give it, will mean even less than the Kennedys which turned out not to mean anything.

Responding to people who have been saying that Obama's speeches lack substance, he has been DETAILING his policies in news conferences and in interviews. Don't blame him when you're too lazy to read them!

This-yet again, new rumor, is about the same as the ones predicting in September, October, then December and again a reprise of January and again for Super Tuesday, put out by the Obama campaign and supporters.

It didn't happen for a reason.

Super Tuesday came and went.

Obama doesn't share Mr. Gore's positions and policy on Global Warming, so I would guess that's why.

Obama pushed for a 2nd time a Lobbyist pushed Liquified Coal Bill, that environmentalists were screaming to pull for over 6 months, 'til it lost support in June 2007, after he revived it in Januar 2007. He supports Nuclear energy. Coal and nukes is not exactly friendly for the environment. He also has the smallest increases on CAFE Standards (mpg). Obama does not share Mr. Gore's position on Carbon Tax and did not join the moratorium for Coal fired plants.

Mr. Gore was very clear if he endorsed, they would have to share his position.
