Plan Your Own 'Bush's Last Day' Party

The New York Times has the story of Elliott Nachwalter, a Vermont pipecrafter who stumbled upon the "Pet Rock" of the Aughts:

The rendering of (the) date (of the inauguration) as 1.20.09 was trademarked by a small company that sold more than $1 million worth of "Bush's Last Day" merchandise in 2007.

(Nachwalter's) BLD Designs added more and more products, and sales momentum is still gathering. "We haven't hit the crest yet," Nachwalter says. He now has six employees (some part time). The pipe-crafting is on hold.

I bet it is. The part of the story that intrigues me, aside from trademarking the date (very Republican), is that Nachwalter expects his business to go out on a wave of BLD (Bush's Last Day) parties across the nation. To that end, he's selling, on his website, everything from wine and pint glasses, to dog treats for your canine guests.

I'd like to hear your suggestions for how to have a successful BLD party. I know it will be January, but I will leave a front window open, for people to throw money out of. Any Democrats at my soiree will have to do whatever the Republicans want, even if everyone else at the party disagrees. There will be lots of charades, but nobody will figure them out.

But the one component missing from my plan is that signature drink. To that end, any mixologists reading this, I need you to make up a cocktail that has scotch as it's main ingredient, and we'll call it an "Evil Dewar's."
