... taking the day off work or skipping class for Opening Day 2008 (one of my classes was canceled this afternoon and the halls at school were mighty empty).
Below's the footage of Bush getting booed by baseball fans during Sunday's opening game for the Washington Nationals. The video also highlights Bush's pitching effort for the New York Yankees after Sept. 11.
What a difference six and a half years makes.
To quote Bob Uecker from Major League, Bush's pitch yesterday, as well as his foreign policy, is:
Abby Tonsing received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2002 from DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. She majored in creative writing and minored in philosophy and classical studies. The award is presented to the student most likely to pursue a career in writing and journalism. Abby is now on a fellowship and working on a master’s degree in journalism at Indiana University in Bloomington.
Her first job out of college was at Greencastle’s newspaper Banner-Graphic, where she was a reporter and photographer. In 2004, her news team at the Banner took home two honors at the Hoosier State Press Association Better Newspaper Contest. Abby recently worked as the class notes editor at the Indiana Alumni Magazine in Bloomington.
A freelance music journalist, Abby has interviewed and photographed Greg Dulli of The Afghan Whigs and The Twilight Singers; Zach Rogue of Rogue Wave; Louise Post of Veruca Salt; Dr. Dog; Silversun Pickups; VietNam; The Lemonheads; Hot IQs; The Twilight Sad; and Imperial Teen.
Abby loves all things indie rock. Her favorite radio station is KEXP in Seattle (www.kexp.org). A DJ since college, Abby now has a radio show at Bloomington’s community radio station WFHB (www.wfhb.org). Check her out every other Thursday from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
When she’s not rocking out, she listens to The Young Turks on Air America Radio (www.theyoungturks.com). On Sundays, she spends all day watching football and roots for the Indianapolis Colts.
She is married and lives in Bloomington, Ind. She can be reached at absinthemachine@gmail.com.
Yeah, I saw that live. I sort of felt bad for him. He got interviewed up in the stands, and he said, "Well, *I* was happy to be here."

A sad day in America when the citizens have so little respect a person whom has dedicated the last eight years of their life doing what they thought was the "right" thing. I'm sure our enemies think it is GREAT. We will pay the hard way; I hope people remember how unappreciative they have been!

WAKE UP AMERICA// Were heading for DOOM. Were the laughing stock All over the world.Read what other countries say about us.Were not welcome,we lost all respect, our Government has lied and betrayed everyone Our government lost its voice in other countries. Americans are all fools,to allow these corrupt officials spread there lies, take kick backs, sell there own country out to profit themself and NO other country has ever had there officials mixed up with sexual escapades as our government has. They do what they want, can still stay in office ANDstill collect the big pay check that they can give raises to,with no questions asked. Most countries think we the people are stupid and proven to them by voting for the Clintons to get back in the White House, who did nothing but bring SHAME upon us all.Why we allowed Bush, whose mind is gone,to stay in office & continue destroying our country, while destroying & killing another country, with lies is beyond crazy thinking. They say our government is lazy & worthless. With all the shame, has only lost its power and brought a deep growing hatetred for all Americans.Research People, even tho its to late.I just want all our government to know, especially Bushes & Clintons,You destroyed our name & our Country.I pray I live long enough to see you all pay for your greed & LIES A sad, disgusted 70 yr old woman

Bill Clinton was booed off the stage last summer in Chicago and he had it coming.
As for the booing of President Bush, it was disrespectable and he did not deserve it. Phyllis Kunz

I wish I could have been there to boo him. That fool has been so sheltered and has only been allowed to go to "staged" events. He needs to know how miserable he has made most Americans with his criminality and his borrowing 4 trillion from the Chinese to give away to corporate crooks like Halliburton. He's no more the President of the United States than my next door neighbor. He deserves absolutely no respect. He stole the office in the first place. He ought to be in prision. He is a worthless piece of s**t!

I would have loved to have been there to boo him. He deserves absolutely no respect. He became President by crooked means. He has made the lives of most Americans miserable by screwing up the economy by borrowing 4 trillion from his commie friends to piss away to Halliburton and other crooks.

The ignorance of some people on these blogs is beyond trying to comprehend.
Several people on this blog think Bush should be impeached. What do you base that on? Give me some examples. Unlike some of you, I have an open mind, and I don't allow Chris Mathews, Keith Oberman, Lou Dobbs, etc., to sway my opinion.
Save your closed- minded opinions- just give me the facts to back them up. Why does President Bush need to be impeached and imprisoned?
If Al Gore had won in 2000, and made the exact same decisions that Bush has made the last 7 years, The Liberal Democrats would be defending the same policies they currently condemn- as would many of the Kool-aid drinking, tree-hugging, bed-wetting, liberal socialist myrmidons on these blogs.
Some of you don't deserve the freedoms you take for granted. You'd rather live in servitude than fight for your freedom.
Take your socialist, anti-American, unpatriotic asses over to Europe. You'll blend right in.
If you ain't down with that, I got two words for you-
SUCK IT

DavesRaves,
How about torture in Guantanamo, winning the presidency through corrupt Supreme Court Justices, refusal to pull out of an unjust and unwarranted war, the firing of U.S. attorneys for political gains, putting White House aids under gag orders despite subpoenas from congress for testimony regarding all of the above reasons and more, should I go on?
People like you disgust me because YOU are in fact the biggest threat to America because of your refusal to accept the truth about our president because of your clearly partisan agenda.

S- I don't remember any torture. Torture is what McCain went through for 5 years as a P.O.W. People like you care more about the rights of the terrorists than your own country. Besides, even if we did lean on them a little, they are terrorists, who don't have Geneva convention protection.
After the 2000 elections, at least seven organizations, including a few liberal newspapers, did their own recounts of the votes in ALL counties in Florida, not just 4 or 5. In each one, Bush was the winner. Of course, these recounts did not try to exclude the military votes from our people overseas.
The war on terrorism is global. do you think terrorism is everywhere except Iraq?
How many attorneys did Bush fire? A dozen or so? Not near as many as the 90 plus that Clinton fired.
What makes you think the war is unjust and unwarranted? Give me some examples.
We were attacked, remember? People like you think we deserved it.
Booing the President of the United States only shows a classless disrespect. If he had been assassinated, people like you would have cheered.

Thibs just shows how far our country has gone in the other direction and why we as a nation have so little respect in the rest of the world. Our President should always be shown respect even if we do not agree with some of his policy.

You think booing is undeserved and disrespectful, for a man who by ANY objective measurement is the greatest mass murderer of the 21st century, so far? I am just thankful that there are no statutes of limitation for war crimes and crimes against humanity, because any standard definition you come up with, I guarantee you GW Bush will meet that definition. Saddam was hung for the murders of a dozens of his own countrymen, yet W has killed from TENS OF THOUSANDS [minimum estimate] to HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS. Who is the worse criminal here? Bad people are bad people, and Americans don't get an exemption---Bush, and Cheney of course--and their fascist cohorts [and believe me, they satisfy the 14 criteria for fascism], are the worst America has ever produced.

The "DavesRaves's" of this nation are the real menace. Living in a bubble and relying on mainstream media is the problem. Aliterates (not illiterates) abound. Google "U.S. concentration camps" and find out the new home of the ignoramuses!

Bush lost the popular vote and still won the presidency because the supreme court justices his father had nominated owed him a favor.
The attorneys fired by bush were done so for political gains (check the web for email logs from Cheney to Alberto Gonzalez asking for dissenters to be let go). This is a blatant attempt to destroy the system of checks and balances our government was based upon.
I should have mentioned the unlawful (and secret) presidential order from bush to the NSA allowing warrantless phone taps of US citizens.
Simulated drowning of someone who MAY OR MAY NOT be a terrorist is torture, illegal, unamerican, and detrimental to our image in the world. You say these "terrorists" were not protected by the Geneva convention, but, obviously the supreme court doesn't agree with your point of view, thats why all of the enemy combatants at Guantanamo are being given their day in court.
Think about this whole situation objectively, and without plugging your boy McCain, if there was another country in the world that was committing the very same acts America has since 9/11 how would you react? I'm pretty sure you would be calling for heads to roll. We need to make the sweeping changes necessary to pull out of Iraq. The Iraq blunder is effectively destroying our economy, world image, and moral fiber.
