Your Media: Dobbs Can't Quite Help Himself

Lou DobbsAmerica's favorite xenophobe, CNN's Lou ("I'm a populist. Deal with it") Dobbs, reacted strongly to a question posed by Wolf Blitzer last week about some remarks made by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice regarding race in America.

During a wide-raging interview at the Washington Times, Rice said, "Black Americans were a founding population Africans and Europeans came here and founded this country together - Europeans by choice and Africans in chains. That's not a very pretty reality ." Dobbs seemed perturbed when she stated, "Descendants of slaves did not get much of a head start, and I think you continue to see some of the effects of that. That particular birth defect makes it hard for us to confront it, hard for us to talk about it, and hard for us to realize that it has continuing relevance for who we are today."

Watch this video carefully toward the end where Lou catches himself before all of "cotton-pickin'" comes out of his mouth.

This is another in my series of Irish Catholic* guys who are not comfortable with brown people, erm, speaking or doing much of anything else. The first part of the series was, Your Media: Patrick Buchanan, Analyst, MSNBC about his "Brief for Whitey" article. Next up? Sean Hannity or Bill O'Reilly.

    *Disclaimer: I am Irish Catholic.
