Videos of the Week: Obama Flips Off Hillary?

Good morning, fellow Tube Boobs, and welcome back to Videos of the Week! I'm going to do things a little differently this week, posting the first two vids as a sneak peak on Saturday, and the full monty on Sunday. (I mean the whole VOTW, not that full monty. Have some decency.)

Why the change-up? Well, our first video is the talk of the whole interweb, and I didn't think it could wait until Sunday. The second one was my real fave this week, but is being bumped in favor of the hot clip.

Coming up on VOTW: Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John McCain, John Edwards, Doug Feith, George Stephanopoulos, the truth about "t**ty play," David Hasselhoff, Iron Man, and Obama Girl, plus much more.

Here's that much-talked-about clip of Barack Obama allegedly flipping Hillary off. After the jump, my favorite video this week, plus I'll give you my answer to the poll question. I have some expertise in this area, as the middle finger is actually the State Bird of New Jersey, just edging out the mosquito.

Was Obama really giving Hillary a "Parkway Salute?"
Duh! Of course he wa...sorry, this is my exit.1286 (64.3%)
Calm down and take off the tinfoil, it was incidental.715 (35.7%)

Do I think Obama was flipping off Hillary there? No. Would it be awesome if he was? Yeah!! Like I said, I'm from Jersey, where gesticular and verbal abuse are the currency of diplomacy. I'd love to see a debate where Hillary and Barack let it all hang out and do the dozens.

Here's my favorite clip this week, a Fox News reporter trying in van to coax some outrage out of a voter at an Allentown, Pa, diner.

OK, I lied, one more sneak peak. I don't think McCain's age is a major issue by itself, but in context, it matters. This is just funny. Here's "Younger Than McCain."

Check back Sunday for the rest of VOTW.

I'm back! Wow, a lot of you think Barack meant to do that. I really don't see it, especially since he's touched his face the same way a number of times. Seems just to be a habit, like John Edwards' thumb point.

This next clip is burning up the Youtube charts, and makes some unfortunate juxtapositions of Senator Clinton and First Lady Clinton.

But there is some good news for Hillary. As this next clip shows, the media doesn't want you to know Hillary's true path to victory.

Slimy religious figure meets slimy journalism in this next clip, poignantly entitled, in the shape of a cross, "Breach of Faith."

There are a few things I love about this clip. The way the guy thinks she's going to be so blown away by the sex he's coercing her into that she'll make him her Regular Saturday Night Thing is comical, and I love her reaction when he blurts out the true meaning of the subtly encoded "get together."

Here's what I don't like about it, aside from the obvious. According to Schooldigger, the Parkway School has 89 students enrolled, and only 1 black student. But, hey, relax, John McCain, at least they didn't have any quota to meet.

Speaking of McCain, Brave New Films got an advance copy of George Stephanopoulos' interview with the candidate.

Y'know, I bet I could do a better Stephanopoulos impression, and Greenwald has my phone number. What the eff?

Also from BNF, this next clip is causing a big stir because of the petition drive attached to it.

In this next clip, a crowd of Obama supporters responds to a tourist who asked, Can you tell me where the nearest ATM is?"

That Bill Clinton makes a lot of sense sometimes.

So, I guess the key is not to use the word "bitter."

I'm not sure why this next one is listed in "News and Politics", but whatev. Here's "Access Hollywood" on awkwardness between Kelly Ripa and Priscilla Presley, plus the disposition of the phrase, "Don't Hassle the Hoff."

I guess David Hasselhoff should just be glad he's not on "Access Branson" yet.

Father Mike Pfleger destroys a Fox News reporter on the "issue" of Reverend Wright. It's a long clip, but I think worth the ten minutes.

The Democrats could use that guy in the Senate.

The so-called "flag debate" has devolved into the notion that you either worship it, or you are crapping on it. I can state emphatically that I'm against crapping on it, but neither do I equate blank-eyed devotion to it with patriotism. There are lots of ways to desecrate the flag, like using it as the logo for a propaganda network. But this next video is a great dose of reality, I hope, for people on both sides of this issue who view it as some abstraction. Put aside the wretched music, and just pay attention to that veteran's eyes.

Jon Stewart adds some perspective on the raising of the flag issue at the debate.

Professional wrestler Ric Flair gets his propers from Congresswoman Sue Myrick.

The tape ran out just before Dennis Kucinich hit her with a folding chair and knee-dropped her from the top of the turnbuckle.

Doug Feith speaks for himself, and it's not pretty. Next time you wonder if a candidate is too "elitist," watch this video to see where that kind of thinking leads you.

On the subject of elitism, here's a tour de force by Jon Stewart, as he hilariously deconsructs "BitterGate," and posits Hillary as "Frank the Tank for President." Very funny stuff.

The Onion shatters my dream of one day enjoying "Iron Man."

Wildly Popular 'Iron Man' Trailer To Be Adapted Into Full-Length Film

OK, here's national treasure Obama Girl, meeting up with Obama Dog among others. My pal, Denise, got me some exclusive personal snapshots of her at the debate, but now I have to do all of her research for a month. Totally worth it.

Finally, if you want to see Hillary, John Edwads, and Barack (via remote) on Stephen Colbert's show this week, click here for all the fun. That's all for this week. See you soon, and don't forget to forward VOTW to 25 of your friends, or you'll develop genital warts.

Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around.
