Defenders of Reverend Wright, attention:

Speaking before an audience that included Marion Barry, Cornel West, Malik Zulu Shabazz of the New Black Panther Party and Nation of Islam official Jamil Muhammad, Wright praised Louis Farrakhan, defended the view that Zionism is racism, accused the United States of terrorism, repeated his view that the government created the AIDS virus to cause the genocide of racial minorities, stood by other past remarks ("God damn America") and held himself out as a spokesman for the black church in America.

And this, remember is Obama's pastor. And now the question needs to be asked, is it really OK for Obama to stand with someone who believes that the Federal government created AIDS? Can you really just pass that off as "my friend with the wacky ideas"? Obama owns some of this stuff, and how much, I'm just not sure.

McCain continues his streak as the luckiest politician of the new millennium, as just as he seemed to close the door on using Wright, Obama opened it back up again, just in time for the psychotic comments above. McCain said thanks and proceeded ahead:

But Mr. McCain took a different approach at a news conference here when he criticized Mr. Wright for, as the senator paraphrased him, "comparing the United States Marine Corps with Roman legionnaires who were responsible for the death of our Savior, I mean being involved in that" and for "saying that Al Qaeda and the American flag were the same flags." ...

Yes, there's plenty of grist for that mill.

Which is all just in time for three primaries in the Bible belt. Is Hillary Clinton bouncing off walls? She should be, and she should be sending campaign checks to Wright.
