John McCain, Mission Accomplished

This old quote might hurt a bit.

And McCain was only saying what everyone, including Democrats and liberals thought at the time. Still, the quote is good enough to score a few points. The mission of course, was indeed to remove Saddam and his regime from power. The mistake was in assuming that alone was sufficient to turn Iraq into a nice peaceful arab state like Kuwait. Which turned out not to be the case.
