Via the New York Times comes word that John McCain's chief advertising strategist, Mark McKinnon, is bidding farewell to his boss. Why? He's keeping a promise he made that would not work for the Republican candidate if Barack Obama became the Democratic nominee. A few months ago, McKinnon gave an interview in which he stated:
"I just don't want to work against an Obama candidacy."
The reason, according to McKinnon, is that seeing Obama reach the White House "would send a great message to the country and the world." McKinnon's former clients have included two famous Texans, Ann Richards and George W. Bush. As yet, he hasn't given any indication as to who he plans to vote for in the upcoming election.
