I am not a Democratic - never have been - but I'm increasingly admiring Hillary's fortitude in this nasty campaign. I'm sensing that the mainstream media is forcing Obama on us and I deeply resent that. The DNC made the rules about the early primaries that have cost Florida and Michigan the votes, but I certainly hope that regular voting Dems will correct this ridiculous "insider" attempt to control the votes. It's outrageous that all the votes cannot be counted. It's time for the Dems to stop manipulating this campaign and let the voters decide.

The reality is that this primary season has been exceptionally good for Democrats. The news is filled with stories about the two Democratic rivals for the party's nomination. Record numbers of new voter registrations have been facilitated by BOTH historic campaigns. The campaign contributions to these two Democrats has made the Republican party seek welfare in the form of federal matching funds to support McCain.

With the level of enthusiasm, energy, and excitement so high for BOTH candidates by their Democratic primary supporters, it's time for the party to insist on a presidential ticket which includes BOTH Obama
and Clinton for the general election. Neither candidate has been able to win a sufficient number of delegates to win the nomination. Perhaps the voters voices should be heard --- they want BOTH candidates, and cannot choose between the two.

Thank you for your comment. First of all, this is a blog where our writers offer opinion. We've had our share of negative pieces on Obama (see Justin's just above mine).

Your way of seeing this implies that any negative look at Clinton is a negative look at all women. Given the so many of the commentators who have criticized Clinton are themselves women, I'm hard pressed to make this same conclusion.

Is there sexism in this world? Yes. Are there some who won't support Hillary because she is a woman? Again, yes. My criticisms of her candidacy, and the occasions when I"ve taken time to praise her policies and style, haven't been based on a dislike of women, nor of a fear of the genuine need for women to break the glass ceiling.

I was raised by a feminist mother, who became the first woman to reach a very high position in a large U.S. bank. I'm married to a brilliant Ph.D. who is the primary bread-winner for our family. I take care of my two kids after I pick them up from school.

Speaking form myself, I just happen to prefer Obama to Clinton. That choice is not, by definition, sexist.
