At the beginning of this primary election campaign, no one anticipated that caucuses with the participation of a very small number of voters (i.e., many in solidly "red" states) could become so
important to the outcome of the primaries. Part of the reasoning behind having the candidates agree not to campaign in FL or MI was to "force" then to change their primary dates. However, that didn't happen. In caucus states, groups of several hundred voters were "out-shouted" by enthusiastic Obama campaign workers, and are being used to "represent" hundreds of thousands of votes.

The polls show Obama losing to McCain in FL, WV, and OH. Clinton is ahead of McCain in polls in those three crucial "swing" states. Obama may be competitive in PA, but Clinton's lead over McCain in polls there is much stronger. And Clinton is competitive in KY and AR. Obama has a real problem with a significant part of the traditional Democratic Party base --- women, seniors, blue collar workers and Jews. CLINTON 08!!!
