Michelle Obama Video Shows Pop Rocks, Cola

    Posted:

A lot of our message boards have been abuzz with rumors about the existence of a video that's supposed to be the nail in Barack Obama's coffin. There are lots of funny things about this, but the first, and most important, is that it appears to be a hoax. From Houston's Chron.com:
If anyone wants a perfect example of the depths to which some will descend, ... look no further than the current hoax going around the blogosphere about the alleged tape of Michelle Obama screaming about "Whitey" while seated next to Louis Farrakhan.

This was all started by Larry Johnson on his site, No Quarter. I'm purposely not posting a link so as not to give him any more traffic. If you want to Google it go ahead, but I would suggest not wasting your time.

This is what he posted: "I learned over the weekend why the Republicans who have seen the tape of Michelle Obama ranting about "whitey" describe it as "STUNNING." I have not seen it but I have heard from five separate sources who have spoken directly with people who have seen the tape. ..."
"Heard from five sources who have spoken directly with people who have seen the tape..."

In other news, a guy told me there's a helicopter in the sky looking at the traffic, and it's baaaad.

Is he joking? Is "No Quarter" sort of like "The Onion" for paranoiacs?

I did a story a few days ago where I jumped all over a reporter for using mostly anonymous, but firsthand, quotes in an article about Bill Clinton, but this guy is using anonymous sources of anonymous sources of a questionable offer of fact. Pringles wouldn't print it on a potato chip.

And if it did exist, who cares? One of my all-time favorite poems is Gil Scott Heron's "Whitey on the Moon." It could be part of the health care plan.

If this is the best the right can come up with, attacking Barack Obama's "uppity" wife, I say bring it on. They tried the same thing on Hillary, and it didn't work there. Nobody wants to see these guys ganging up on a candidate's wife.
