Mad Hatter Holds Tea Party

Larry Sinclair today held the press conference that should never have been. With all the aplomb and believability of an anonymous, alphanumeric blog spammer, he reiterated his list of charges against Senator Obama which are too absurd to merit listing here at AOL. Political Machine's Tommy Christopher's excellent original reporting from earlier today answers the question of why such a press conference happened in the first place.

The preposterous event met with ho-hums from some and mocking ho-hums from others. Even so, two newsworthy bits of information came out of the circus.

First, according to the Politico, Sinclair's spokesman, Montgomery Blair Sibley attended wearing a kilt. Yes, a kilt. You know, a kilt. Seriously.

Second, it seems Larry was late for a very important date. Following his ... conference, Sinclair was met by police and handcuffed. It seems Mr. Sinclair was arrested for outstanding warrants in other states.

Sinclair has received little support in his smear mission. Even the wild, wild, west of the blogosphere isn't taking him seriously. Still, the idea of a kilt clad spokesman and the gay madman on the lam is too amusing to leave unremarked.

There is a video out from the press conference. I recommend avoiding it. Aside from the kilt and the arrest, there's not much of Larry Sinclair or his sick fantasies worth exploring.
