FOX News Doctors NY Times Photos
Fox News has sunk to a new low. On Wednesday, the network displayed photos that its editors had doctored of two New York Times employees--reporter Jacques Steinberg, and editor Steven Reddicliffe. Media Matters has graciously provided us with the before-and-after evidence showing that Fox purposefully yellowed Steinberg's teeth, widened his nose and chin, and photo-shopped his ears stick out further.
Reddicliffe also received the yellow-teeth treatment, as well as dark circles under his eyes, and an exaggeration of his receding hairline.
Why has Rupert Murdoch's flagship television network stooped to such tactics? The Times had the audacity to run a piece about Fox's recent poor ratings performance.

While conservatives often have legitimate gripes with the Times on matters of policy (and, from time to time, on fact-checking matters), the willful distortion of these pictures boggles the mind. As of this writing, Fox has not released any comment on the matter, much less fired the people behind it. And with all due respect to the Times, this is one time that fighting a pig makes sense.

On Wednesday morning's edition of Fox & Friends, co-hosts Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade aired the photos while discussing a piece of the New York Times. The piece pointed out what the newspaper called "ominous trends" in Fox News' ratings.
"It wasn't a hit piece," Sifton [Sam, NYT Cultural Editor] told E&P. "It was straight news. This was a hit piece by Fox News. It is beneath comment. "Asked if the paper planned to respond to Fox's actions, he said no: "It is fighting with a pig, everyone gets dirty and the pig likes it."

ON ANOTHER NOTE, CHECK THIS OUT:
BLACK ANTHEM???
Rene Marie is hiding behind the excuse of "artistic expression". Why couldn't she be proud to sing the National Anthem of the United States? Remember what happened to Imus? He insulted “one” ball team. This woman insulted “millions” of Americans.
"The Black NATIONAL Anthem"? THERE IS NO BLACK NATION! IS THIS WOMAN CRAZY?
I did not know there was a Black National Anthem. Where is this black nation? Do we need a passport to go there?
Are Hispanics allowed in the Black Nation? Exactly
where is it?
This singer opened up a can of worms. It's the "black anthem" ... period.
She should have sung the traditional national anthem and announced she wanted to sing "Lift Every Voice" afterwards.
If she has a problem with the National Anthem, then she could decline the invitation. This was not just poor taste --- this was a real shame. She was more than unprofessional. I might have believed she was drunk. The message she sent was certainly selfish and divisive. Now she has to "deal with it", as she says. An apology would be the considerate thing to do. Being considerate of others does not seem to be one of Rene Marie's qualities. She chose her own race as more important than all others on this occasion. This kind of shame will stay with her.
Many Black-Americans would be offended if a country singer got up and sang "Dixie" and declared it an alternative national anthem.
I see this rendition as nothing different. As hard a song as it is to sing, the “Star Spangled Banner” is our “National Anthem”. Think about it this Fourth of July.

From what I've heard, the NY Times readership has steadily declined over the years. They haven't exactly made a lot of friends with their ultra-liberal, inaccurate reporting. I've also heard that Fox consistently leads in the ratings among cable news networks. There's probably more to this than we know. I can't find any sympathy for Radcliffe or Steinberg. This could be some kind of payback from Fox. I got a laugh out of it.

Fox should be held accountable for defamation of character - airing doctored pics in this manner is reprehensible. The fox manager who authorized this should be fired immediately!How can they expect to be considered as a serious news organization when they are using rag mag tactics? I think I'll stick to CNN, NBC, CBS & Bloomberg.

I remember when FOX News really was "fair and balanced". Now not so anymore. I enjoyed watching Fox & Friends because it was straight talk about the events of the day. Now they spend more time trying to be "cute". Especially Steve Docey. He seems to be bending the format to reflect his not so clever sense of humor. He's a bore and wears his agenda across his forehead. Now I watch the History Channel in the morning. Too bad that Fox has dropped the ball. maybe they will get the message and dump Docey. That move would GREATLY improve the show.
