We're beginning to understand why Barack Obama keeps protesting so vigorously against the prospect of "George Bush's third term." MAYBE HE'S WORRIED THAT SOMEONE WILL NOTICE THAT HE'S THE CANDIDATE WHO'S RUNNING FOR IT.

Most Presidential candidates adapt their message after they win their party nomination, but Obama isn't merely "running to the center." He's fleeing from many of his primary positions so markedly and so rapidly that he's embracing a sizable chunk of President Bush's policy. Who would have thought that a Democrat would rehabilitate the much-maligned Bush agenda?

I would like to make a prediction here. We all know that Obama has started up this web site of his (www.stopthesmears.com) "supposedly" to monitor all of the "bad" things being said about him and also "supposedly" to correct them.

I wonder? Has anybody, to date, gotten a "report card" via your email address...chiding you for being "naughty" and perhaps warning you be nicer to "Barry" in the future?

Well, I think the purpose of this site...originally...was to put a damper on FREE SPEECH, but since it doesn't seem to be working very well at present, I predict that some poor, careless blogger will be singled out by Obama operatives for a widely publicized "liable" (slander) law suit...thus rendering a chilling effect on bloggers everywhere.

I can almost sniff this in the wind now, so be careful what you post. You can say "in my opinion" and it is free speech...protected by the First Amendment (I believe) but if you get hold of something that is not totally accurate and post it as "fact" and it fits into what "they" are looking for...you could become their first...and perhaps last...scapegoat.

Obama - Bush - 3rd term: if that is the case, why is Repulican John McCain running away from fellow Republican George Bush? Why wouldn't McCain be proud to be seen campaigning with Bush? I mean, McCain will not even be seen at a fundraiser with Bush, but has no problem taking the money Bush raises for him. Some might call that hypocrisy.

McCain has reversed his position on 23 issues since 2000.
Including legislation he has sponsered.
How about when he went to Iraq and said everything was going well, but off camera he had 200 GIs and 2 Apache attack helicopters protecting him.
The DNC is sueing The Federal Elections Commision
for the antics he has pulled concerning campaign
financing. He changed his position 3 times on that.
His lawyers sat dowm with Obamas lawyers concerning public financing and they couldn't get a straight answer from the McCain attornys.
That is the main reason Obama opted out.
