DaveTony Snow Dies at Age 53
Heartbreaking news in the wake of the death of Tim Russert.
Former White House press secretary Tony Snow -- who once told reporters "I'm a very lucky guy" -- died at the age of 53 early Saturday after a second battle with cancer.

President Bush said Saturday that he and first lady Laura Bush were "deeply saddened" by Snow's death.
"The Snow family has lost a beloved husband and father. And America has lost a devoted public servant and a man of character," the president said in a statement.
"It was a joy to watch Tony at the podium each day."
I had the great opportunity to see Tony Snow on the stump at a fundraiser here in Cincinnati. He was absolutely fantastic, authentic, and with charisma. He also had local roots here and the crowd loved him. His service as a press secretary was a huge asset to the Bush administration.
He was also a favorite stand in for Rush Limbaugh and an excellent commentator on Fox News. To say he will be missed would be an enormous understatement.

While I didn't agree with Tony most of the time, this is a great loss. His strength in the face of adversity - both personal and public - is to be admired and emulated.

Being a liberal guy, I did not always agree with Tony. But he was a class act and certainly one of the best assets the Bush administration ever had. 53 is too damn young to die.

TONY SNOW WAS A GREAT MAN AND A GREAT AMERICAN.
HE EXEMPLIFIED GOOD MORAL CHARACTER AND WAS EXTREMELY ETHICAL.
WE NEED MORE AMERICANS LIKE TONY SNOW.

Whether you agreed or disagreed with Tony Snow's political views it was apparent he was a very articulate and accomplished man. I can recall many of the bloggers on Daily Kos writing on how they wish he would die and the pitiful excuse for a human above me writing the same thing. I guess you will always have these comments in our great free country but it is tasteless, and Tony Snow accomplished more and will be remembered for more than any of these individuals could ever think of doing. I wish the Snow family the best.

I greatly admired Tony Snow, he was consistently clear, logical and flawless in his thinking. His death quiets a voice of decency, courtesy and common sense, qualities very rare in politics today.

I have followed Tony Snow ever since I found out about him, working with his stepmother at a quilt shop in Dry Ridge. I loved listening to him on Fox News and was delighted when he became Bush's press secretary. What an informed and educated man who wasn't afraid to use humor when it was called for. I'm very sad for his wife and children. Fifty-three is indeed way too young to go.

I didnt agree with him on any issue and disliked his style but he seemed to be a nice guy and conservatives have lost a decent allie.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Snow family, friends and colleagues. Tony was a class act and a consummate professional in spite of his tour of duty at the WH. I know all too well just how much love and support his loved ones are going to need at this trying time (and I just hope they don't see too much crap like what this cretin binkywoof posted above me. You are beneath contempt. One more word: karma). IT does not represent most liberals/Democrats, thank God.

Any fool who blindly follows a man who has done more harm to this country than other in history, deserves to die of cancer. As I type this I realize that this is a horrible thing to say, but let's face it, the policies this man supported while in the Bush administration and the level corruption that he blithely represented during his tenure was both unethical and repugnant.
One less intellectually corrupt talking head. These men have ravaged our society and left a horrible wake for future generations to suffer through. Good riddance and RIP.

What a tragic loss for America, and the world. This was a thoughtful, kind and patient man. His opinions and debates brought us all into them, whether we listened via radio or watched via television. He MADE us THINK. I'm so sorry to lose such a wonderful man.

Tony Snow was the best. It is to bad the liberal media besmerches his reputatioonn even in death. Liberals have no respect for any conservative but object when any negative comment is heard when the likes of Tim Russert passed. Wait till Ted Kennedy meets his maker. Liberals had better look to see what is in their closet. Tony, my prayers are with your family and your eternal peace. RIP !
