Hillary Won't Rule Out a Convention Vote

Hillary Clinton sure ain't going gentle into that good night. Her half-assed concession almost two months old, she's still acting very much like a candidate. At a fund raiser in California last week she said it's still possible that her name could be up for a vote at the Democratic National Convention alongside Barack Obama's. Because that would be the best thing for party unity, of course. Um....what?
"I happen to believe that we will come out stronger if people feel that their voices were heard and their views were respected. I think that is a very big part of how we actually come out unified," Clinton, D-N.Y., said...

"Because I know from, just what I'm hearing, that there's incredible pent up desire. And I think that people want to feel like, 'OK, it's a catharsis, we're here, we did it, and then everybody get behind Sen. Obama.' That is what most people believe is the best way to go," she added.

So by making a nominating convention all about the second place finisher, embarrassing the actual candidate and causing a brouhaha on the floor that the GOP and the media would salivate over, the party will end up more unified? Hubristic to the max.

Here's video from that fund raiser:

Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. Please read our Help and Feedback section for more info.
