McCain VP Picks Have Pro-Obama Bias

As I reported last night, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, a tenant in the John McCain VP Shortlist Hostel, has offered praise for John McCain's rival, Barack Obama.

Now, USA Today is reporting that another resident of the shortlist, Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty had kind words for Obama:
Pawlenty offered positive comments about Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, saying "people gravitate when you have something positive to say."
The remarks were made to a Republican lobbying group at the first annual GOPAC State and Local Summit, so Pawlenty did have to play to the crowd a little bit:
Pawlenty said that Republicans such as Ronald Reagan had ideas, but he added that in recent years, "The Republican idea factory has seen a little stagnant."
McCain is going to have an exhausting search on his hands if he wants to pick a VP who hasn't either praised Obama, trashed McCain, or cured cancer by casting out a demon. Maybe Nicole Richie is available.

Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. Please read our Help and Feedback section for more info.
