Newt Gingrich Joins House Protest

UPDATE: *Now, that's more like it! The protest has now been legitimized by a legendary conservative thinker. This is another great angle I hadn't even thought of. Just like the talk shows, guest protesters over the next 5 weeks would ad to the impact this will have on Pelosi, the Libs and even The Big O.*

Time this right over the next 5 weeks and The Big O's Mile High Madness will be like a nerdy kids birthday party - so insignificant it might as well not have happened at all.

McCain needs to make a few surprise visits for moral support over the next several weeks and then take over the House Floor, megaphone and all, as the Liberal Convention gets under way in Denver.

Of course efforts should be made so that throngs of people crowd the property around the Capital Building all the way up those magnificent steps leading to the Chamber where lawmakers, who actually (finally) care about the plight of the average joe, are gathered, awaiting the arrival of the Anti-Messiah, Big Bad MAC!

I can see it now. Someone acting as the Sergeant at Arms announcing, "Republican Holdouts! The Next President of the United States, John McCain!" Big Mac enters as all presidents do, shaking hands, smiling, waving and making his way to the podium where behind him is a manikin figure resembling the speaker, Queen Pelosi.

From time to time, as McCain speaks into the megaphone, he turns to acknowledge the 'dummy', occasionally reaching out to shake her hand, in the spirit of non-partisanship. Does she return the gesture and take his hand.

Well, what do you think? She's a dummy!


Of course, it really doesn't matter who wins. I'm just trying to help (level the playing field).

Newt committed several ethical violations when he was the speaker of the house. He didnt get elected again for a reason............... Newt has no credability in my view to speak on anything. He cheats on his wife, he is not moral and all out "BAD AMERICAN".

This furore over oil drilling is just more of Bush's political bullshit. Right now there are more than 460000 acres of land approved for oil drilling and just how much is being drilled. Not a damn one. And people are really dumb enough to think offshore drilling is going to save them at the pump, would be far better off dumping their SUVs and gas guzzlers and buying Hybrids. Then after drilling is approved, look and see just what Bush's Big Oil buddies are going to invest billions to dig for oil when there is so little underneath. The whole issue is a farce and when it is approved, just wait and see which companies will be dumb enough to invest billions to prove it.

=============from TONY================well splash, it looks like a high dollar PR campaign, as if the republicans actually care about the people, and not about oil company profits......just 2 weeks ago, most all radio talk shows were all defending the oil companies profits, as a form of free market capitolism........

and now you have a reveloutionary aka Gingrich....... the one guy who lost his job over the monica lewinsky scandal......some results there!

but your PR campaign seems more like "FORM over Substance" it's sure that we can drill for more oil, but what about "PRE-CONDITIONS" if these oil wells will be offshore will we have a US labor policy, or will we have NON US workers, working for 12 cents an hour, will there be US labor policies, or an "off shore" labor agenda...........

some of these wells are outside the US jurisdicition and open to first come first serve, so it is about time we look into this issue...................the good thing is this, at least the democrats will have some labor issues and some ecological issues to maintain......

while the republicans had 14 years to fix this problem and 6 years with a stacked deck..........what did they do under the Republican revolution era? well bad free trade deals, and almost destroyed the US society........

WE are lucky as a nation, that the democrats are in control, and hopefully they will be "old school" democrats and be concerned about US labor issues for US citizens, and NOT this new school equality priority, especially when it reaches the international level AKA bad free trade agenda, whereas cheap labor with NO benefits replaces US labors with LABOR protection.

This is a BIG ISSUE about "off shore drilling" someone said we already have about 1/2 a million acres open for drilling with NOTHING being set-up..... people all over the country are asking Why NOT RE-start the pumping that was shut down in their states.....

Is the "off shore" drilling just another ploy to try to get more BAD labor policies, whereas these "off shore wells with be outside US labor jurisdiction and be manned by foreign labor at 12 cents an hour? IS THIS WHY, we need "off shore" drilling?

We need GOOD labor policies if we drill off shore, we also need to set some jurisdicition Up.......

QUESTIONS, if the US starts drilling "off shore" will it open the door for other countries to also start drilling "off shore" of the US too........could we be opening up pandoras box here.....

NO NEED TO RUSH into this legislation, let's take our time and GET IT RIGHT.........

1. take a look at what land the oil companies already have, and how they are using it.

2. take a look at what type of labor policies can be assured in an "off shore" situation.

3. Take a REAL look at the "what if" factor..... what if it opens the doors as to where RUSSIA, CHINA, will also start drilling "off shore" around the US....

Dave, it's just a Big Oil talking point that opening up more of America's public lands and waters to Big Oil will help with prices at the pump. Even the Dept. of Energy's most optimistic estimates say that move would only lower prices a few cents more than a decade from now. If we're going to go after energy resources, let's go after energy efficient technology and non-polluting sources like solar, wind, and tidal power.

TONY - Your comments are the epitome of the attitude that has destroyed the economy we enjoy today.

If you think that Liberal support of organized labor is anything more than an ass kissing attempt to buy votes then you are as naive an L-bot as I have ever met.

If the Libs regulate labor on these rigs anymore than they have on the mainland (and I suspect they will try) and WE let them, then WE deserve to be upstaged by another foreign labor force. Maybe you should contact your liberal rep and do your part to make sure that doesn't happen.

And your typical liberal scare tactic of "opening pandora's box" is what has kept us from opening the treasure chest that is the OCS, ANWR and, especially shale extraction all these years.

Remember, that before 14 years of Republican rule, there was 40 years of Liberal rule. Looks like America is wising up and not giving either loser party too long to screw up. I predict that in 2-4 more years the Congress will be Republican again.

If America had another choice, they would take it. This 2 party system is detrimental to the health, welfare and overall well being of our great country.

You are so wrong about the revolution era, which is the closest we have ever come to conservative rule, even with a liberal sex-aholic in the oval office. Newt and gang only reduced our budget deficit from $281 billion to $18 billion, a whopping 94%.

Clinton took the credit, but any fool knows that spending (or not spending) is the congress's baby. There never was there a huge surplus like Clinton was trying to claim (and the press let him get away with).

Tony, I know you are upset about the way things are, but the Libs and their love for labor are one of the primary hinges of the problems you are facing now. We have cost ourselves right out of global competitiveness.

So be careful what you ask for, because things could get worse. A lot worse.

Does anyone remember the "CONTRACT WITH AMERICA" stunt few years ogo? Same Newt Gingrich, same House steps, only different but still stupid faces. Remember the results? By the way, not too long after that contract, it was discovered that many were having affairs outside their marriages, including kids. Some of them had to resign, including.... you guessed it right..... Newt Gingrich.....Republican House Members, run for cover! Newt is in town! We are watching very closely!

Seeing Newt Gingrich with those House members reminds me of this famous "CONTRACT WITH AMERICA" years ago. How stupid can you be to align yourself with this Dude in this stunt; that's all it is:A STUNT. Remember the results? Not too long after the contract, it was discovered that many of those who were in the picture with him were REALLY as dishonest as he was. They had secret lives away from their families; some of them had children outside their marriages. How stupid can you be to choose to be seen with this guy, under these circumstances? At least, for once, George Bush shows some judgement: He is not interested in calling Congress back from their vaccation for this stupid stunt! Good for you George!
