Focus on the Family took a stab at comedy by posting a video on its web site asking people to pray that Obama and 75,000 Democrats get rained on during his acceptance speech at Mile High at the end of the month. Reportedly enough Focus members thought the video was in bad taste and it's been taken down. Naturally the piece lives on in the ether, and here it is for your viewing pleasure. Were the offended parties upset about the group asking Jesus to carry out a mean-spirited act, or did they just think the dude hosting the video is kinda creepy?
I have always been told, be careful what you ask for, you just may get it.
I personally feel he should have saved that prayer for something more substantial.
Given the seriousness of our Natural Disasters lately, I don't think his video is much of a joke.
The star of the show is a bit nutty.

The disastrous fear mongering of the right wing Bushie/Fox News crowd must end. Imagine NOT voting on the basis of fear and racism. Imagine NOT voting on the basis of corporate news brainwashing and hate. Imagine voting for intelligence and creativity and human potential, instead of the simple-mindedness and fear that's led us to endless war, a horrible recession, the erosion of our civil liberties, and our nation's worst international reputation in history. Wake up, America. STOP BEING AFRAID! Your fears are killing us far worse than any foreign attack. That's how every dictatorship in history has come into existence. You have far more to fear from the people who want you to be afraid, than from anything else! Stand up and send a strong message to the fear-mongering right wing and the quivering brainwashed Fox News crowd: stand up and vote for change.

So the Republican and the radicals on the fringe of society have reduced presidential election to this. It's not what McCain can do for the country or why Obama is not the right candidadte, but know. The guy hosting the video is just as creepy as John McCain. It's sad that when McCain was told about this stupid idea he did not discourage it, but rather that they were just having fun and who knows, it might rain. That was a terrible and unfortunate statement for John McCain to make. I guess the presidency is now a joke for him. The thought of waking up the morning after election and reading that Mccain won gives me a terrible headache and nightmare.

Peter---I agree 100percent with your perspective on the tone of this campaign. Thank you for letting people who promote hate and negativety know that this is not the way to unite a nation.

It does not surprise me that republicans attack on democrats would include praying for rain on obama. This is why our Country is in such a mess. Stick to the facts, Republicans are screwy

Hillary supporters had nothing but fear from the start. Spreading hate and lies is all that's left. Soon, shock and disbelief will take it's course.

Just goes to show that these so called Christian Conservatives don't really respect Christ. Instead of worshiping God they USE God for frivolity!....and personal gain....

Would it be wrong for you to pray for rain?? Would it be wrong for you to ask God to become a republican? .....Ah..yes...hello, just so you know I'm very sure that God is not a member of any political party, but I must say ..he would be fair in hearing both sides and certainly not wishing any harm to either party. I also think he would go with the party of fairness, the party of love (if he were to choose ..of course) that party would be the Dems. So if I were you, I would not ask God to choose, because I have a feeling you would not like his answer.

Well, I already thought that it was gonna rain there that day. i don't know why but the thought just came into my head. If it rains than so be it. But, we cannot have a democrate in office that is one thing I am sure of. The democratic party has gone mad and they are not the democratic party any longer but some type of half dem and half socialist party. They believe in works. They think they are above the rest.

Did McCain really not come down hard on this video? If not, he is so immature. And is McCain really ready to lead our nation? I have a great idea, next time we have a crisis McCain can use his sad sense of humor to solve it. This guy is too old, and too much out of the loop to help our country.
Please consider Barack Obama in Nov!

Obama better not pray for rain on election day. All the youngsters will sleep in and the old folks will get a McDonalds biscuit and go to the poles.
