Obama tries to link Mccain to Big oil ties. But in fact it was, Obama himself who voted for a 2005 energy bill backed by Bush that included billions in subsidies for oil and natural gas production, a measure Cheney played a major role in developing.

A Virginia court has dismissed a motion by embattled Rep. William Jefferson (D-La.) to dismiss the racketeering charges against him.

Jefferson is facing a 16-count federal criminal indictment, accusing him of seeking bribes for businesses run by family members.

The trial is set to start in December. This has been going on forever!

The President does not.

I remember when the new Democratic Congress took over, in 2004, with Pelosi in charge and they promised change and as far as I can see --- no improvements have been made, other than a lot of bickering and stubbornness. When are they going to realize they work for the people --- the people do not work for them.

The Government should stay out of its citizen's lives and do their jobs which are to protect and serve the American People. Personally, I don't care if you want to smoke, drink, eat, pray, have an abortion, say the pledge of allegiance, read the bible, practice your religion, have a gay lifestyle or whatever floats your boats, it is none of my business, and certainly not the business of the Government on any level.

A lot of Americans today are whiners, everything offends them, the Government appeases them, makes a law, guess what, just because you whined and the Government listened, now you have offended someone else. It is a chain reaction. You take away a freedom and guess what, little by little they are all taken away. Some people are never happy no matter what!

This type of action by the Government wastes so much time, money and takes away from the more important aspects such as the quality of life in America.

People need to start taking responsibility for themselves and their families. In America you need to most importantly obtain all the education that you can and work hard, all opportunities are there, you just need to take the iniative to act on them. We have to stop creating a country of unproductive takers. Nothing in life is free, maybe for you, but someone has to pay and it is not fair that a certain number of Americans have to carry so many unproductive in society. Take pride in yourself and your Country and you will be much happier for it. My grandmother had a saying which translated in English (for those of you who do not speak the language, too bad, your loss) God helps those who help themselves and you know it is absolutely right. (sure hope the God police don't read this, I'll be in big trouble lol).

My grandparents came to America in hopes of a better life and guess what, they worked hard and they got what they wanted. REMEMBER YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW. They learned English and assimilated to the American way. I can tell you that their first stop in America was not the welfare office either. They were very proud Americans and have taught us all that you do not take handouts. If you want something, you must work for it.

I too have lost several members of my family to war, our family is very proud of them and we are not angry with the President or anyone else for that fact. You have to remember that when you sign on the dotted line to become part of the military in America, you must understand that there is always a possibility that you may be asked to go to war. It is a job that you selected and you must understand it is your job whether America is at peace or it is involved in a war. My prayers and a big heartfelt thank you go out to all our soldiers serving in our military so that we as American's can enjoy our freedom. Also a special thank you to their families who are also making a big sacrifice.

Wake up people and take responsibility for yourselves. It is not my responsibility, not the responsibility of the taxpayers and certainly not the responsibility of the Government to make you happy, healthy and a success in life. Happiness comes from within. There are no excuses for your failure other than you failed yourself. Place the blame where the blame lies and stop passing it onto other people. Stop taking the easy road.

As far as this election goes, make an intelligent and educated decision as to what is best for you and your family. Do the research and make an informative decision based on what is best for you and America as a whole. Since the beginning of this election, the media has pitted man against women and vice-versa, black against white and vice-versa and back to the usual, democrat against republican and vice-versa, cat against dog etc. I think they love every minute of this and we are all players in their game. All for ratings and their own personal gain. They are playing us all and very well.

PERSONALLY, I WILL NOT VOTE FOR OBAMA. He does not have what it takes to lead, he has what it takes to divide.

It used to be that a candidate running for the highest position in the United States had to have an impeccable reputation, patriotism above reproach, outstanding ability and experience, a wife worthy to be first lady, and a character of the highest integrity.

There has never been a candidate for the presidency of the United States with more questionable background, more controversial issues, and more conflicts than Obama.

Obama has neither ability nor experience.

He truly is a Muslim who wants to be seen as a Christian. (How's that for disloyalty to both religions?)

There is much controversy regarding his birth place?
He is receiving large donations from China, Iran, Iraq and who knows where else? Now it's being denied.

He is half white but identifies only with black.
His wife is a militant black who thinks like Malcolm X.

The conflicts and controversies, rumors, myths grow bigger by the hour.

Years ago this would have been a formula to reject such a candidate simply on the basis he was too controversial and suspicious to represent America.

Now --- none of those items seems to matter to a large percentage of voters as long as they think he is black, Muslim, and looks good.

Why not let O.J. become a member of the Supreme Court of the United States. So what if he killed two people! Why did Ted Bundy have to be executed? He would have made a good crime investigator! So what if he killed all those women.

In other words, it seems it doesn't matter how wrong or controversial a person may be as long as he is popular.

What is wrong with the minds of the American voters?
