The Dem convention was a huge success. Sen. Obama sold his candidacy and picked a terrific running mate. They should win by a landslide.

Think that Obama failed to pay respect to MLK Jr! He failed -- during the campaign -- to pay respect to Hillary, and continued the same on August 28! His message was the same old democratic lingo!! It was not the message that won him the nomination!!
Really saddened to see Obama throw change out of the window with his pick of Biden! He should have selected Hillary -- but didn't.
Conversely, look what the republicans did the day after!!!!
A REAL AMERICAN AS VICE PRESIDENT?? WHAT A NOVEL IDEA!! This was brilliant on McCain's part!! A young governor with executive experience; a Mom with five kids -- one enlisted in the US Army, and another with Downs Syndrome -- ; a husband who is a member of the union, and a TRUE WORKING PERSON; a true Washington outsider; a woman who is intelligent and TOUGH, and PROVEN that she can oust 'good old boys' when they break ethical standards; a reformer; a conservationist; and wants this country to become energy independent!! She is also young enough that she will be a FORCE for years to come.
To BOOT—she would not accept the “BRIDGE TO NO WHERE” and advised the Congress if Alaska needed a bridge, Alaska would build it!!
From the initial reaction of the democrat spin monkeys, she has them VERY concerned, if not SCARED!
She does not ‘talk about change’, SHE CHANGES!!
Sure that there are many Democrats who heard her speak in Dayton who were asking themselves, "WHY DID WE NOT HAVE HILLARY ON THE TICKET?" Think that the Democrats have -- once again -- outsmarted themselves. Her speaking ability will challenge that of Obama. SHE IS STRONG!!
Think that Sen Biden best brush up on his debating skills -- HE WILL NEED THEM!!
Believe that McCain won the presidency on August 29, 2008!

As a mother of 6 adult children.I for one am not surprised that McCain would pick a woman to try to win an election. It's been like a child's game .I have heard on tv that people say... we aren't voting for vice presadent. But if m Mccain dies the VP takes over and that would be a disaster!!!He never did any thing to help his state,Arizona. What makes people think he will helpbe any body? And the women that are supposingly dems, to just go for him because Hillary didn't win . That is just immature!!!I wanted Obama and Hillary torun together but since that didn't happen. I'm sure not going to jump over to MCcain's side, not ever!!People you need to wake up. Look how this country and it's people have become i9n last 8 yrs. Its always been....Reps take office and get us in all the messes, Dems have to come back and straighten the country and people out. Deny all you want but truth is truth. If MCcain wins, look out for world war 3 and maybe the end!PROUD TO BE A DEMOCRATE... the people that get things done! Not ruin our people and country like the REBS.

IS THIS SERIOUSLY THE BEST CANDIDATE SENATOR MCCAIN HAD TO OFFER A CANDIDATE WITH 20 MONTHS EXPERIENCE IN STATE GOVERNMENT OF A STATE WITH A TINY POPULATION? AFTER THE 15 MINUTES OF FAME BECAUSE THE REPUBLICANS FINALLY ARE ALLOWING WOMEN TO COMPETE AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF GOVERNMENT WHAT MORE IS THERE? WHAT AN ABSYMAL DESPERATE PANDERING TO THE HILLARY SUPPORTERS. THIS IS A CONSERVATIVE, CREATIONIST, PROLIFER WHO IS SUPPORTIVE OF BIG OIL. A TRUE REPUBLICAN WHO IS JUST MORE OF THE SAME. NO NEW IDEAS NO MORE NEW HOPE FOR AMERICA.

This is going to be one interesting election. The people on the ticket are all questionable. Each has good qualities and bad but leadership qualities??
How does one pick a vice president to run on the ticket? The people chosen to for us to vote on this November are going to be "luck of the draw". As our nominated choice for President on both sides are not my choice. Now, we know the choice they made for running mates make it even more bizare.
We should all vote! However, given our choices of people... who does one pick for such an important job for two people for the leadership of our country for four years. I have listened to bad debating skills and lots of talk of change. Changes in the system to get on the ticket need to be made.
I am of one Party. I will vote but, not necessarly for the people for which represent my party. This saddens me for I have never done otherwise.

I agree with David Bailey.....Sen. Obama did sell his candidacy and picked a super running mate in Joe Biden. As a Delawarean, I am very proud for Joe Biden as he is a good man and will fill the shoes of vice president very nicely. He has served Delaware for many years with great success! God Bless America and all the best to the Obama/Biden ticket!

"Enough" was the most powerful word of the last 3 years of the US ecomony. How much more can we take? NONE!!! Its time for a CHANGE. I was blessed to sell 2 homes before the housing market crashed. I have a friend who ownes 2 home in two different states and they both are worth nothing. He makes over $100k a year and he can't move forward in life because he can't sell either home in this housing market. And GAS... My daughter just started college and I thank God that she can't have a car on campus because I'd be working 2 jobs to supply gas for us both. "ENOUGH" I agree with Barack, we as Americans have to look and believe in the CHANGE and the Future and not looking for 4 more years of the PAST.
Everyone in America is not rich but we want the money we work so hard for to mean more than beans when the bills come in or the food goes low, or when a medical emgergency occurs, and don't get me started on the Medical issue. I just changed insurance carriers and I was so blessed I had no pre-existing issues that my new carrier would have to deny. That should not be the issue, if I am sick and I pay more than $300 a monthy for insurance, I should get treated the same with a new condition or a pre-existing.
I say, "IT'S TIME FOR A CHANGE"... We're now at the Mountain Top, let's move forward and not turn and go back down to bondage.

Obama said he will bring change, so he picks the Washington fixture who has been a senator since 1972, when Richard Nixon was President. That's not Change, but Sarah Palin IS CHANGE.

Wow! what a party last night. I think Obama did it. I am a republican who is voting for the Obama ticket. Hillary people lets get on board with this team. McCain's choice would be very scarry to take the office with John's helath issues and age. She is not Hillary. I can promise you that Hillary with have a very high profile position when the cabinet is chosen. Don't fall for the McCain 15 minute choice to try to win you over. Stay the course, stay Obama. Republican for Change and a women in her 50's and very smart. -Obama

McCain picked a great individual for VP. All of you near-sighted liberals are now too blind to see this. She has more experience in her little toe than Barack Osama, yes I say Osama, has ever experience. He is ONLY a senator from Illinois. Go McCain and Palin!!!!!

Sen. Obama will make a great President. He also has picked a great second in Joe Biden.
The convention was a tremendous success and has rallied most Americans (*Republicans too) to support him and his administration for the next 4 years.
** a Hillary supporter from the very beginning

The Democratic convention was a HUGE success. That was a convention that will go down in history as one of the most successful. The Republicans strongest argument was experience. They just blew that argument when they picked Palin. They used national security as an issue, yet they pick a woman with NO national security experience. Looks like the convention will be followed by a landslide election for Obama.

Obama`s speech was the best political speech of all time...his message rang true & clear..The entire convention was magnificant....Anyone who votes for McSame must examine their sanity..they are delutional or racist...Could you imagine another 4 or 8 yrs of facist rebublicanism...This is NOT the Republican party of old...the neo-cons & facists have taken over the grand old party...If we are to save this Nation we must vote for a change or we as a people will suffer grave consequences...please use your head & vote OBAMA
