Update: Reuters is reporting mixed messages from the McCain campaign on when Palin will face the newsmedia for the first time.
"Within the next few days and I'm strongly recommending that she come on 'Face the Nation' with Bob Schieffer," McCain said in an interview that was taped on Saturday. But McCain's campaign manager, Rick Davis, would not go that far. "She'll agree to an interview when we think it's time and when she feels comfortable doing it," David said on "Fox News Sunday."
Glad we got that cleared up?
In an interview on NBC's "Meet the Press," Senator and Obama running mate Joe Biden threw down the gauntlet for GOP veep nominee Sarah Palin to come out and, um, meet the press: (from Politico)
"She's a smart, tough politician," Biden told Tom Brokaw in a "Meet the Press" interview live from Wilmington, Del. "So I think she's going to be formidable. Eventually, she's going to have to sit in front of you like I'm doing and have done. Eventually, she's going to have to answer questions and not be sequestered. Eventually, she's going to have to answer on the record."
The McCain campaign says Palin will eventually do interviews, but none are scheduled.
Biden, too, took a weekend off from the Sunday shows after he was named as running mate for Barack Obama, although Biden appeared on CBS' "60 Minutes."
It was a strong appearance by Biden, as he also tagged as "demeaning" the assumption that Hillary Clinton supporters would vote for her polar opposite simply because she's a woman.
This follows closely on the heels of Barack Obama's first direct swipe at Palin yesterday, on the subject of Palin's rhetoric on pork and pockets full of bacon.
The McCain campaign's response to these challenges will be a real test of their ability to eschew the cheese with their whine, and tackle the substance of the contrasts the Democrats are drawing.

We are all going to be in deep doo doo if the Republicans get into office. Think about what would happen if this lady has her finger on the button? More of the lame same. As for her getting interviewed. If she is not reading off a teleprompter she will have no clue on what to say. Joe Biden will eat her for dinner in any debate. Their is nothing behind her except alot of skeletons which seem to be coming out on a daily basis

Barack Obama has been the presumptive nominee of the Democratic party for more than three months. He has spent that time avoiding a debate with John McCain.

Joe Biden is the most effective liar that the democrats have. He can stare the facts straight in the face and tell a different story with no facial tics or tells. He's probably one hell of a poker player. that's why Obama picked him. When his talking points run out his presentation does seem to fall flat. Palin will stomp him into the ground politically unless the willing media runs interference for him.
I am still trying to figure out why Obama won't debate John McCain !!!!! Back in the primaries all I heard from Obama was how eager he was to debate McCain, but refused to do 10 town hall debates when given the opportunity. Whats up Obama?????? I thought you were eager and just couldn't wait to debate John McCain !!!!! All talk !!!! Can talk the talk but can't walk the walk !!!!!! Just words !!!! No substance !!!!
Your vote really is your choice. You do not have to vote Republican or Democrat just because the Media blocks representation of all qualified candidates!

I dont think you libs want to be comparing Palin and obama on telepromter gaffes. When hers went out, she continued on beautifly. When obama's went out, he was ready to give little Timmy a breathalizer test.

Open Debates!!
2:05AM Sep 10th 2008
Dear Texas Nader/Gonzalez Supporters,
This past Tuesday, we stood alongside the Texas Green Party and filed - and were approved - for being a Write-In Candidate (thank you Electors for assisting on that!). As many of you have heard or read, the ballot access laws here are the most restrictive in the country -- read the press release reprinted below for more information.
So the campaign is ON in Texas! That means we need YOU to help out where you live. We need to educate, county-by-county, on how to physically "write-in Ralph." We have researched what systems are in what county already -- and are in development with the national campaign on materials to that end.
What can a volunteer do? Lots! Email me back at debbie@votenader.org if you can assist with any of the following.
1. Have local media contacts or interested in doing that legwork? Can you write op-eds/letters to the editor, etc? 2. Do you have storage space (not much needed) for materials as they come in and can you help distribute them to people in your area? One has already offered a storefront setting in the valley -- maybe you know a private business that would host such a thing. 3. Can you throw a houseparty or find someone with a house of good size to do so? Do you have some good area contacts that would be good to invite? We have some from previous campaigns across the state and we will walk you through the 'how to' of throwing a houseparty. 4. Can you work the polls or put signs up around town during early election and on election day? 5. Can you be a regional contact? Someone to help guide others in your area on these types of activities? Describe your area of influence...how far a reach do you think you have (university setting, part of a town, a whole town, city, county, 2-3 counties?)? 6. Do you have special campaign-related skills or contacts like graphic design skills, connections to good vendors that might cut Nader a deal (printers, copy services, t-shirt designers, etc)?
I look forward to hearing from you. It may be several days before I get back with you, but assured I will and I will then start to connect you with others in your area.
Who's going to tell obama what to do if Biden kicks the bucket? We all know obama can't make a decision and stick with. He voted present 130 times, instead of yes or no. 6 of those times he said he pushed the wrong button and wanted his vote changed. We can't afford a president that pushed the wrong button 6 times.

Yeah, Mc Cain really keeps his word. He is seen hugging Bushie. He votes with Bushie ninety-five percent of the time.He expects to keep all of Bushie's failed policies and tax cuts for the very rich. He has more than sixty Lobbyists working free on his campaign. Now he is telling us the Republican Party is repugnant to him. The Republican Party is full of corruption and Mc Cain is going to fix everything. Yeah, right! What party is it that Mc Cain has belonged to for the last thirty years?

All the silly Neo-Cons are so excited about Palin's speech. Sarah Palin never wrote or saw the speech until she read it from the teleprompter. The speech was written by one of Karl Rove's henchmen. He said it himself. So much for Palin's brilliancy. Well, at least she can read.

The one type we don't need in the White House is a MILITARY man with his finger on the button. Please remember Jack Kennedy when he had to go against ALL the military and the political hawks during the Cuban M. Crisis. The wanted to bomb Cuba. Kennedy's judgment was right.

Sarah Palin wants to compare herself to Hillary Clinton. Then she says she is just like Ann Richards. Funny! I think she is another Elli May Clampitt. Pretty, but dumb as a post. That is why she appeals to the lunatics. Mc Cain won't even let her out on interviews. Of course the Republican mafia is scattered all over Alaska making sure in their own way that the citizens just make nice..... and we are all waiting for the other shoe to drop.
