While Obama has played the race card to the hilt, he has made this very much in the forefront of peoples minds. If something said did not please him it was " racist" if it did not work to his advantage it was " racist". Here is man who has had not one single accomplishment or finished or applied himself to one thing of which he was connected. He has been groomed and taught how to speech, read a teleprompter and re-peat word written for him. But, when it came to tackling a true issue and seeing it through, he NEVER has. He has lied about his resume' he has lied about his accomplishments, he has lied everytime he has addressed the American Public, and taken credit for himself when it was not deserved or earned. His record is horrible and yet he continues to lie and lie and not one thing he has been involved in has he contributed to. His lack of Pride in American, his inability to Pledge Her Flag, Her Anthem, to even remove Her Flag from his plane. His ignoring our Troops in both Iraq and Afganistan, his inability to see what the trickle down effect on the working class American would be with his stupid building of higher taxes for those that already pay the highest taxes, and the enlargement of a much overgrown Government now, also, his " give away" programs which we already have generations of welfare families, that need what Senator McCain suggest, education, training and No more Welfare for those capable of working. We are alreadt tax burdened, Obama offers us more of the same only more taxes, and more long term hardships for the working class. To vote for a person BECAUSE of his color and ignore his lack of ability is ignorant of what would happen to this country not just for us but for future generations, is just a poor way of expressing your color. Some of the most educated Black People in this Country are against what Obama brings to the table, they call him an Empty Suit, not capable of handling his present duties much less being a leader. He has not shown leadership ability in the jobs he has held, ever, so why would anyone assume he could take on the largest job in our Country? Any one thinking clearly would not. Obama is a good speaker, wekk trained in preashing change, but he has no loyality to a mentor , the Rev. Wright, anti American, anti White who he followed for over twenty years. He made Obama look bad by telling the truth, Obama kicked him to the curb. Have you not wondered why Jeddie, Sharpton, Fraukin and others have not been out there for him.......... think about it. He thinks he has the Black vote locked up and he is not interested in winning you, you will vote color... he is courting the whites, and believe me he wil leave both in the dust with the Rev. Wright if it makes him look better. This is amn with no loyality to faith, Country, friends, he is self serving and with so many shadows in his life, his fathers 11 wives ( allowed by Muslims) his background is deep in him, and it is not for the betterment of America and her people. It is proven most of his internet monies comes from the Middle East, what does that tell you ? It tells me, we had better beware. Obama has had nothing but Socialist and Communist Mentors all his life, and this is his belief. Go to Cuba if you want Socialist control, it is not for America ! His wife and he are both radical, racist and where does all the monies come from for the multi million dollar house, nannies, fancy clothes and all of his goodies.he has never worked at anything long enough to more than write two books full of lies and try to woo the American public with arrogance, eliteness and with 37.5 % Arab, 50 % White and 12.5% African negro, he has not one drop of American negro blood in him. Poor, well you do not go to fancy Prep Schools if you are poor, nor do you go to Harvard, and every job he has had since..he has stolen credit for accomplishment he NEVER earned. His talent is lying...and does it well, but lies always catch up to you, and his are now coming to surface, more and more and more.
VOTE McCAIN for HONESTY, LOYILTY, EXPERIENCE and most of all for LOVING THIS COUNTRY AND IT'S PEOPLE !!
JOHN MCCain for PRESIDENT !!!!!!!

I'm sorry to say that. How else could you explain why one unknown can be immediatly accepted while another has to constanly refute misinformation and people say that they like him but do not know enough about him. Also much has been said about sexism, but no one accuses anyone of overplaying the "sex" card. However, even if Obama makes ANY slight reference to race, he is accused of playing the race card and being a racist.

This may answer the question, but shocking where it is coming from!
Think that it is sad to even think that racism would play a role in 2008. BUT, look what some of the operatives have done in recent weeks!! SEXISM IS CERTAINLY ALIVE AND WELL. Believe with all my heart that the DNC went after Hillary. They are now trying to do the same thing to Gov Palin, but think she will have them stick it!!
After Howard Dean's slip of calling the republican party 'all white' a couple of weeks ago, should not have been surprised by the depths their surrogates would take to trash a 17 year old girl -- but guess that is democratic leadership on display for all to observe.
VERY DISAPPOINTED AND ASHAMED of DEMOCRATS and the media over the Gov Palin affair. Too many Democrats (and their bloggers) have decided to trash a 17 year old girl to get to her mother. Find it VERY hypocritical of the US media making this story front page news, when they had their hats handed to them by THE NATIONAL ENQUIRER in the John Edwards scandal -- BIASED?? YOU BET YOUR LAST DOLLAR ON IT. Could it be that this is one of the major reasons they are losing subscriptions and advertisers? Their grossly inflated self importance (especially at MSNBC, CNN, and the NYT) is sad for the profession, but comical!
Obama can talk all he wants to about 'change', but HE CANNOT EVEN CONTROL HIS OWN PARTY!!
Think that the Democrats have sadly called attention to their elected members -- who should know better! Among those who have set pathetic examples for the youth of America are former Gov Spitzer (NY); former Gov McGreevey (NJ); current Mayor of Detroit Kilpatrick (and that mess is still on going); Senator Edwards; Mayor Gavin Newsom of San Francisco; Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa of Los Angles; and of course, Bill Clinton. Some of these clowns are still in office!
As a writer pointed out recently, “Interesting that when John Edwards’s and Jesse Jackson’s ‘troubles’ came to light, nobody asked whether they were employing proper birth-control techniques, and, if not, why not. Those questions are reserved for the daughters of female candidates” — for the teenage daughters of female conservative candidates, I might add. Hope the media sees what fools they are making of themselves, and the credibility they lose each time their own biases and prejudices take over their souls.
Believe the real problem some democrats have with Gov Palin is the fact that many in the media especially, are resentful of a very attractive female who has done it all -- AND WITHOUT THEIR HELP!! Speaks volumes of the current state of US media doesn't it??
Sexist?? YES!!! Hypocritical? INDEED!! Pathetic Examples for Youth?? ABSOLUTELY!! That is why I am so ashamed of what the media and the democratic party have apparently become!!

---------------------------------------------------- Were we racists when we voted for Clinton, Gore, Kerry 85-95%? Blacks ahve voted overwhelmingly Democratic since the civil rights and voting rights acts during the Kennedy and johnson administrations. Also, Blacks do not automatically vote for a person because he is black. We do not tend to vote for black republicans in large numbers. So please research before you repeat misleading information.

I believe racism will indeed play a large part but in reverse. I feel that a lot of caucasian people are planning on voting for BHO so that they can make amends for slavery...erroneously thinking it will eradicate the racial divide in this country. People need to become educated (accurately and not via the internet and one-sided media outlets) on the issues ONLY and leave race & personality out of it.
All the race card will manage to do in this election is further divide the country: If BHO wins, there will be celebrations in the streets; if he loses, there will be riots! Either way, the country as a whole will lose after this election!

Re: Carole and Wheeljc
First of all do you have a life? And why is it that the Democratic is the reason for the media investigating Palin? I don't think it matters what type a person anybody is when it comes to politics. If you have dirty laundry it is open season for all. What has Palin done outside of Alaska? And Carole are you upset because you have to pay more taxes? You need to get over yourself. And you are prime example of racism. Wheeljc a pretty woman is not the issue can she handle the issues of our country. Being pretty will not stop terrioism. And being pretty will not help the economy. Palin shows the concern of her family but their are alot of women in america that work and bring home the bacon and take care of their family. Let's not blame the media for opening up doors that the Repulicans new would come to light. Like you say what you do in the dark shall come to the light.

Mr. Oboma is doing a great job of reading the tellaprompter, he stumbles when being asked questions. If not preprapared stumbles like a 10 year old schoolboy in front of the class. John McCain has invited him to debate with him in pubic forums. He has refused because he is incapable of debating, with out strict QA he can preprapare. Being the president is the ability to think on you feet and make tough decisions quickly. He will defere all decissions no mater how fast they are needed. He will be always swayed by the most left of the democratic party. It is simple mathmatics, no experience, nothing done, nothing will happen, just like the two years of Democratic party rule directed by Nancy (nothing done) Pelosi. The only thing thing that will different is the President will be Black and the USA will be attacked. Patrick Virginia Beach, VA

There are those who will vote for Obama only because he is "one of their own." There are others who will not vote for him simply because of his cocky attitude from day one when in reality he lacks substance & is not qualified for the presidency. He & the DNC made a "Mile High" mistake in Denver. At a time when we have a struggling economy & people with real concerns that "over-the-top" extravaganza was not appropriate. It was nothing but an attention-getter for a pompous candidate & it appears to have boomeranged (as I suspected it would). An opportunity for a "we focus" instead of a "me focus" was blown. An inflated ego will eventually go, "Poof." I believe a "slow leak" has begun. My vote against Obama has nothing whatsoever to do with skin color as I am not a racist. (There, no doubt, will be those who refuse to vote for a bi-racial (he is not black).) I became turned off early on by the media manipulation & the promotion of an unknown by the DNC. There has been too much unfairness by the Democratic Party resulting in the "wrong" nominee. I've come to not care for Obama at all due to his superficiality, phoniness, lack of integrity & experience. My conscience will not allow me to cast a vote for him as I question what kind of change he has in mind. Beliefs that were instilled in him over the years are still there. They are covered up for the time being. For me there is no racism, but there's no Obama either.

The ones accusing voters of being racist are those that think this is the only way to persuade insecure americans to vote for Obama.Fear is the way liberals control the weak. They just don't think you are smart enough to think on your own and take care of yourself. They want to do it for you.Big Daddy to the rescue!

ASKING IF "RACISM" WILL PLAY A PART IN THE GENERAL ELECTION IS NOT ONLY A SUPERCILIOUS QUESTION, BUT AN OBVIOUS FACT. OF COURSE, ANY CANDIDATE THAT RECEIVES 92-94% OF THE VOTE FROM ONE ETHNIC GROUP DOES NOT HAVE AN OVERRIDING CONCERN WITH RACE. MAY I OFFER ANOTHER BELITTLING QUESTION? DOES ICE PLAY A PART OF ALASKA? IN SHORT, LIKE MOST RATIONAL AMERICANS, I HAVE AN AVERSION AGAINST QUESTIONS THAT INSULT BY INTELLIGENCE.

I said, yes, I thought racism would play a role in this election. BUT, you didn't allow us to say on which side.
I believe, from talking to my african-american friends and acquaintances, that they will vote for Obama, simply because they think of him as black. Even my republican black friends come out and say they'll vote for him because he's a black man. This race may well be decided on race, but by black voters ignoring his qualifications, other than the color of his skin.
It's funny, he's only 7% black african, 43% arab, they really should look at his background, who financed his Harvard education, and his ties to this terrorist supporting person, not to mention the group he worked for "community organizing". He may have a stain of color on his skin, but it's his brain they need to identify with. Most blacks are not Marxists, they should find the politician that will be most in line with their views, not the color of their skin.

Will racism play a big part in this election. YOUR DAM RIGHT!!!. The racism displayed against women with the help of the main stream media in this country in this day and age is sad and disgusting.
At least Barack Obama Broke his ceiling and has not gone through the gauntlet that Hillary went through and Palin is experiencing.

Race has nothing to do with why I'm not voting for Obama......I don't agree with him on most issues. Then I read what "leb1" said and I have to agree that Racism is very prevalent in this election with over 90% of blacks voting for Obama.
