Palin's Church: 'Pray the Gay Away'

The last time I checked, this was a free country. There are plenty of gay people out there who are leading happy, normal lives. But, there are many who aren't. Why can't there be some form of therapy to help them, if they don't want to be gay? This is another "pro-choice" issue that the liberal-left doesn't want to have. Prayer and therapy should always be available to everyone who seeks it.

What a laugh...a thousand prayers and a buck will get you a cup of coffee at the gas station.

Always attacking religion and attacking the people who have it in their lives. If a person does not want to be gay-why not pray to God for help? The bible clearly states to ask God for his help. I think it is wrong of you to be writing this article to begin with.
It is very dangerous TC to be mocking God and what he can do-be careful as it was John Lennon, Marilyn Monroe and a few others who mocked God and look at what their fate was...I will dig up that email regarding these two and their comments about God.

Perhaps you should make at least a cursory attempt at studying information before you present the data. A 30 second internet search (try http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=James%205:16-18%20&version=31) would reveal that prayer is most definitely proactive and results based. From a journalistic viewpoint this "story" is a mess. Get the facts right. This was most obviously written to weaken the publics image of Palin. The public does not need your ignorant ravings obscuring the real news.

the way i see it is man was made to be with a women and woman a man (THATS HOW WE CONTINUE ARE EXSISTSNCE)anything else is going against nature or else why would so many gays try so hard to convince us they are normal they know they are not. i have a few friends that are i didnt know they were until later but i found out one thing I STILL LIKE THEM they are still my friends, they have more emotional problems because in most groups if guys or lesbians are brought up its not for the positive they have to sleek away feeling sad or sit there and say nothing until the subject is changed. i think if they would have a choice they would want to be NORMAL just so the feelings of uneasiness could go away. i try not to pass judgement and pray they do find happiness in this world GOD WILL HAVE TO DECIDE IF THEY SINNED OR NOT me as a CHRISTEN can only pray for them and try to understand they are confleted themselves.

I don't normally engage in these great debates because I feel people have a right to feel how they feel. For some reason I feel compelled to respond to "pray the gay away" I am a 46 year old lesbian. I have been out and proud of who am for 46 years. Now you ask, how can she know she was interested in women for all her life? I say I'm proud of who I am because there is more to me than being a lesbian. I am a lover, friend, parent, manager of a business just to name a few. I know there have been debates on if being gay or lesbian is a chose. Speaking for myself, it was the way I was born. (God doesn't make mistakes) I do know people however that did choose to be with someone of the same sex because of the way people of the opposite sex have treated them. As far as "praying the gay away" I prayed this morning right before I got online. I thanked God for this day, for my family and friends to be safe, happy and well. I asked God to be with me to speak kindly, but to still get my point across. Ironically I sign online and find an email about this topic. I realize some people want to feel they can make the gay go away, but unfortunately for you that is not going to happen. I am happy with who I am and that includes being gay, my only prayer for you is that you can find happiness within yourself as well! God Bless!
