To Whom It May Concern,
I don't know what this country is come to. The republicans or whomever was over the last election as well as the two elections prior has totally screwed up the belief in the voting process. just two weeks ago Obama is so far ahead of McCain it made no sense. One week later McCain is supposedly ahead of Obama. Other countries are watching, and laughing. Our credibility is nill. I remember when the voters counted. Where is our ethics, morals, and value system? These are what this country was built on.

Of course she is being used as a distraction. McCain has NO change platform. He is another 3rd Bush term. We know it, you know it and McCain knows it. But because McCain (Rove & co) selected the first woman republican vp with no qualifications, unproperly vetted and last minute choice, they are willing to take their chances, attack Obama and cry sexism on every non-issue. McCain is PATHETIC.

Sarah Palin's overused buzz words- Mom, hockey mom, ebay, pta, pit bull, and her annoying voice have made the public forget that McCain has not addresses the real issues. Every day this Country is getting further in debt and more out of work. We will all need to find a new country to live if the Republicans get in office for 4 more years. Are that many Americans STUPID and BLIND? Where are the smart women?

Gov. Palin was the perfect choice for McCain. She is young, smart, savy and not attached to any of the Washington good old boys. Neither is she apart of any machine politics.

She is definitely NOT a distraction but rather more support for the McCain campaign's reform platform. She has helped to reform Alaska's corrupt political climate and McCain will continue to help reform America's corrupt political climate. Get rid of the earmarks and spend tax dollars to resolve the real problems facing this country. That's the only way things will improve in America.
BHO certainly cannot claim that his ways will do that because all his campaign is built on is more "freebies" resulting in even more earmarks and higher txes for EVERYONE! Don't let BHO's claim that only 5% of the American people will pay more in taxes. It all trickles down in the end. In order to pay for all of his programs, anyone who has an income will pay more and more to the Federal government and will have continually less disposable income! It's simple economics.

Palin is not a breath of fresh air. She's part of the negitive Republican Party. Who are we voting for anyway? McCain looks like he has given the whole 9 yards to this woman. This is the president we want in the White House I wasn't sure who I was voting for but now I'm more sure than ever before.

Palin recently said that the war in Iraq is "God's task." She's even admitted she hasn't thought about the war much — just last year she was quoted saying, "I've been so focused on state government, I haven't really focused much on the war in Iraq."
Palin has actively sought the support of the secessionist Alaska Independence Party. Seven months ago, Palin told members of the group—who advocate for a vote on secession from the union—to "keep up the good work" and "wished the party luck on what she called its 'inspiring convention.'"
Palin wants to teach creationism in public schools. She hasn't made clear whether she thinks evolution is a fact.
Palin doesn't believe that humans contribute to global warming. Speaking about climate change, she said, "I'm not one though who would attribute it to being manmade."
Palin has close ties to Big Oil. Her inauguration was sponsored by BP.
Palin is extremely anti-choice. She doesn't even support abortion in the case of rape or incest.
Palin opposes comprehensive sex-ed in public schools. She's said she will only support abstinence-only approaches.
As mayor, Palin asked the library how she might go about banning books because some had inappropriate language in them—shocking the librarian, Mary Ellen Baker. According to Time, "news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire Baker for not giving "full support" to the mayor."
She DID support the Bridge to Nowhere (before she opposed it). Palin claimed that she said "thanks, but no thanks" to the infamous Bridge to Nowhere. But in 2006, Palin supported the project repeatedly, saying that Alaska should take advantage of earmarks "while our congressional delegation is in a strong position to assist."
Palin: “As for that VP talk all the time, I’ll tell you, I still can’t answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does every day?

"Idealism flees in the face of reality." Nietzsche
Change in Washington is in the air. Too bad it's not springtime when the cherry blossoms are in bloom. As a disillusioned quasi Washington insider, I'm truly amazed about how gullible so many voters are when it comes to the C word. "Are you ready for some change," Obama yells at his adoring crowd. McCain points a finger at his crowd and declares, "We are going to shake up Washington." Are such statments ruth or rhetoric? In reality, the two political parties each have a base of about 15% of their party's registered voters. The democrat's base could be described as far left liberals. The republican base could be described a right wing Evangelicals. That leaves 70% of the voters who are not as liberal or conservative as the respective party bases. This broad majority are the people who go to the polls, cast their vote, and determine who the next president will be. Curiously, this silent majority, possessing so much power, has no voice when it comes to running of Washington politics. Senators and congressmem of both parties, regardless of their good intentions, have to follow their respective party line, which is in large part determined by the base, or be replaced by someone else in the next election. Once reality sets in and they realize that there is precious little anyone can do to affect change in the nation's capital, they content themselves by replacing their once lofty ideals with rhetoric aimed at getting elected for higher office or reelected to their present position. The reality is that Washington is in the iron grip of lobbyist and special interest groups, who like the statusquo just the way it is. Any wonder that the combined wisdom of politicians in both parties have led us to a nine and a half trillion dollar debt, monster trade deficits, a failed public education system, a broken healthcare system, a nightmare mortgage debacle, an aging infrastructure, and a social security and medicare system on the verge of collapse. Just ask one of our sterling politicians, "Who's to blame?" The patented response is, "Not me, it's the other guy's fault." That's the Washington reality.

have we dumbed down after eight years of the idiots running us into the ground that we can be distracted by this show. why aren't we asking the questions- for example-why is palin not "allowed" to speak on her own,she is being managed like a child and any woman who was a hillary clinton supporter who now backs palin because of gender-you need to have your voting rights taken away for palin is the complete opposite of everything clinton represented and will continue to strive for and you should be ashamed of yourselves, do not make yourselves into bigger fools. mccain cannot even come up with his own slogan-"change" was used by the obama campaign and had meaning to it-mccain means more of the same ans i do not care to hear "friends"-he is not my friend nor do i wish him to be and yes, you were a pow-how long do you want to ply us with guilt- i had a dysfunctional family, i have ms, i had many people in my life die young- i do not make a habit of repeating this time and time again-so please- we all know about your service, capture-get on with your life-it seems you did so when you married your lovely rich wife. and to state the economy is sound-would you like to pay my bills, so my husband can finally stop working and insurance companies do not suggest my only way for the medicine i need is to get a divorce or move out of my country-how is that for the "moral" party. walk up-america-here is our chance to be what we once were- a nation built on ideals, not making deals, a nation of truths-not lies and avoiding testifying, a nation where equality is everyones right, not the priveledged few, where money does not buy you justice, but the truth does, where our country was based on separation of church and state-remember germany. bush, cheney and all the other criminals will be held accountable for the killing of all the young man and woman in a war based on lies and it just so happens most of the kids killed were from low income backgrounds promised nothing but falshoods and not even the physical an dmental care ...if they made it home. this is not the american dream or founders spoke, but it will be the america of mccain and what's her name-palin-we need to have her vetted- something mccains advisors apparently"forgot" to do.what else wll they forget-incidents of -waterboarding,taking money from our poorest, shortchanging the education systems, causing people to suffer because they will not consider stem-cell therapy nor will they provide the means to get any therapy.yes-this will be the america of mccain and palin.be very wary , america- a mistake was made eight years ago and let us take a hard , long look at the nation we have become.

CLEARLY, YOUR MISCHIEVOUS QUESTION HAS CAUSED A NUMBER OF BLOGGERS TO MISINTERPRET YOUR QUESTION. IN SHORT, HUFFINGTON MAY NOT BE A MISANTHROPIC FEMALE, BUT SHE CLEARLY DETESTS THE REPUBLICAN PARTY. Palin supporting the bridge to nowhere project at the 2006 Alaska Governor's debate:
Palin: "I won't stand in the way of progress, that our congressional delegation and the position of strength that they have right now. They're making those efforts for the state of Alaska to build up our infrastructure. I would not stand in the way of this project or other projects they are working so hard on."

Pity the poor Dems, they have to finally deal with someone who is going to appeal all voters. A landslide is in the making for Mccain/Palin and well deserved. Dems can give thanks to Reed and Pelosi for the current sentiment...who in their right mind would want those idiots to have more power?
