Is it possible Palin supported reimbursement from insurance companies 'medical supplies' used by Wasilla's Town EMT's???? The rape collection kit was, rightly or wrongly, included as 'medical supplies' and billed to the patients insurance companies.
With only 1 or two rapes per year I doubt Palin was even aware of this INJUSTICE or OUTRAGE as you portray it.

I really don't know if a blogger is a Journalist or not since there seems to be no Journalist training or even ethics. First let's start off with digging into the facts a bit - did Sarah create this policy or was it in place before she held the office. That is actually a big fact to not clarify, or, well I guess you really meant to distort it for your own usage. If the Governor signed a law in 2000 which protects the victims (I applaud that enormeously), then why if he was under the knowledge that "her" jurisdiction was the ONLY one not following the law did he sit back and allow his law to be broken and not force her town to make the reimbursement???(big thumbs down) This is a Democratic Governor who was unseated by Palin? Surely you could have gotten additional sources that did not have an axe to grind.

I think what bothers me the most is your connection of a completely unrelated comparison to her reimbursement. Give me a break - you don't even use a shred of facts to support what exactly she was being reimbursed for and you SPIN it to make it seem she did not deserve to be reimbursed. When I work for a company and use my own resources to travel, I expect to be reimbursed in full. If your world does not work that way then I can recommend you to many companies that will bankrupt you for your generous policies. Again it is your SPIN and ignorance to present and support facts. But I guess you are trying to get people to talk so you don't have to worry about ethics - just lie and let the Internet do your dirty work.

I am an independent and my vote is not won yet BUT looking at the blogs, I can't stand shoulder to shoulder with people who spread information as though it were fact and create a story and comparisons that don't exist in real life. Denise Williams did a similiar error with the Jet and I called her out on it and have yet to get a response. Don't think readers accept what you spew. You are a writer and have to earn the respect of your readers. That is done by being thorough and at least being impartial during the process of getting the facts. Looking at your story, you seem to absorb only what you want and forget all the other details that don't go your way or you are not interested in. Facts are facts - don't take words and add other words, connect them to other stories and then distort them to make a single story because you do not like a Party or Candidate and you want to CREATE news - isn't this essentially what Obama stated today, that his words about the "lipstick" were taken out of context and distorted?

Now you may actually have the story BUT it would only be by luck since it is evident you have not reported all of the facts so I have to assume you don't have all of them OR are holding back on the ones that will deflate your story. Either way I cannot trust this story as real so it must be FICTION.

You use the most inflamatory rhetoric possible to dig up the most
obscure things possible and try to make them a big deal. Rape Kits
are administered and used in the hospital not at the police station.
The hospital bills whatever primary insurance first. Once time a
motorcylist ran off the road and crashed in my driveway. After the
paramedics and police left, I looked around and realized that I had
to clean up the mess (blood, skin, grease, skid marks, everything.)
That was when it dawned on me that bad things sometimes happen to
good people and society isn't always there to help. I am not equating
my circumstance to rape, but I am saying sometimes things happen. I
doubt that Sarah Palin herself decided that "we won't pay for rape
kits for victims." But, by the time the truth comes out you will
have moved on to whatever your slam of the day is. The way that the
"Pray gay away" was not true, but you got lots of traction out of it.
Equating this to her taking per diem which she is entitled to under
state law (and she has saved the state millions otherwise) is just
another ridiculous slam. You are a sorry human being who has a win
at all cost mentality.

Now that the conventions are over, do think that folks have started looking a bit more in detail at the candidates. Think that what they may be finding in Obama is not what they expected: way too many skeletons (Rev Wright, Tony Rezko & Bill Ayers ); WAY TOO ostentatious (the Obama Seal, Greek Columns, Broncos Football Stadium, not liking to be bothered while eating his waffles, 'folks in PA being bitter and hanging on to their religion and guns') -- good bad or indifferent, there is a perception of brie and chardonnay at 5 PM daily; WAY TOO MANY MIS-STATEMENTS -- "Above My Paygrade" at Saddleback, "My Muslim Faith" on This Week Sep 7, the pig and lipstick broohaha on Sep 9. For whatever reasons, his surrogates jumped on Palin as being unqualified before they had done their homework, and candidly, think that it caused folks to do some comparison with his resume -- which came up very thin for the leader of the free world. Now, even if his surrogates find 'dirt', it will not hold near the water it would have held had they kept their powder dry. They fired for effect too soon!

Do not think that Obama or his camp have been sensitive enough to the female vote. There are many former Hillary supporters who are still very angry at the Obama camp for 'disrespecting' Hillary. Be it true or not is no longer operative. It is perceived and believed by many - more than the Obama camp recognizes. The comments made by the Democratic Chair of South Carolina on Sep 10 regarding Gov Palin and her 'qualifications' are hurtful, and women are a lot more sensitive than the Obama camp has calculated. They simply do not know how to deal with Palin, and the candidate himself is having to deal with the VEEP nominee of the opposing party!
