Politico reports today that Sarah Palin had a tanning bed installed in the Alaska Governor's mansion shortly after she took up residence in 2007.
Good news: It was used and she paid for it herself.

says:

Avoid tanning beds and sunlamps.
Many people believe that the UV rays of tanning beds are harmless. This is not true. Tanning lamps give out UV rays. Health experts advise people to avoid sunlamps and tanning beds.
