Joe Biden Is Very Disappointed With the Tone

I just want to say that I have enjoyed my time posting on these blogs with all of you these past several weeks. I have learned much from all of you--about American politics, American society, and American values (or, in some cases, lack of). I have bantered with a few of you, and probably have offended many of you--and for that I apologize. Politics are indeed dirty business. I watched 60 Minutes tonight and got a better understanding of both candidates and I actually think the ideal ticket would be them together (you pick your order). Being an Independent, barring anything ridiculous happening in the debates, I have made my choice and as with voting--it's a secret. I have done my homework on these two candidates, both are men to be admired for some things, and both are lacking in many attributes I wish they had--I am a hopeless romantic who would love to see a 'Martin Sheen' type in the Oval Office--but then that's just TV. I am concerned with the current 'bailout' coming our way--I know it's probably a necessary evil, but I'm a little hot about it and this is why: In 1999 when President Clinton signed the veto-proof (it was a Republican dominated congress then) Gramm/Leach/Bliley Act into effect a lot of people got rich. A lot of companies got rich. The people who got really really rich were running the companies that got really rich. The middle class at that time begun it's downward spiral. The great divide between the rich and poor grew wider, and wider, and wider. Now that those big companies are failing--now they want the middle class to bail them out and they want us to do it with no oversight once again. The $700 billion dollars our President, the one with the amazing record for fiscal responsibility, wants from the American taxpayer he wants without restriction, without recourse in the courts, and without any oversight. I'm a little ticked off by all of this as should all of you be
--regardless of who you support. This election is not about race--something Obama said tonight he didn't think would stand in his way, now there's optimism. Bottom line folks--this election is simply about who you think is going to better help YOU and your family. Are you better off than you were four or eight years ago? Do your homework. Obviously you are not going to be able to trust the media completely. And don't get junk off youtube.--that stuff is just not objective enough, in fact some of it is just plain ol fashion lies. Factcheck.org and snopes.com are reliable sources. You may not like all that you find--but be objective, both camps stretch the truth. Check their sources, check your sources. Read it, weigh it. Then you can at least say, win or lose, you did your part and you are, in fact, a patriot. And I'm sorry if you see this again tomorrow--but as this is my final post, I got a business to run folks and I think I'm getting a little addicted to arguing and that's not a good thing in business (especially for a woman), I want those who (and I think they know who they are) have been especially intellectually stimulating for me, to see it. And don't forget folks, regardless of the candidate--VOTE!!!!!!!

Did anybody but me catch, Biden's answer about President F. D. Roosevelt getting on TV and talking to the American Public, in 1933? Duh, at that time there were probably 3 TV sets in the US and they were in labs at GE. I am sure he meant the radio, but if McCain had said it or Palin had said it, they would jump like vultures.... So he is one of the politicians, who has a case of the dumbs, like some others we know.

Biden knows all about this and is trying to protect the American Public from the awful truth about this secret genetics lab. There is some scandal about Obama and the Project Obama experiment that went very wrong. Very wrong. Now Obama is running for President. Go figure.

Joe Biden is a pretty decent guy who really doesn't talk bad about anyone. Too bad he's stuck running with Obama, we all know he thinks Hiliary is much more qualified.

I'm voting for solutions, and only Barack Obama has them. It's either that or four more years of the same thing. nothing has changed that and no republican can. What's wrong is republicanism itself - a failed seventeenth century european philosophy, more French than American.

Biden does have some good points... We *do* need to nationalize the lawyers! Lawyers and the legal suits they bring, have been a tremenndous burden to our society! Joe is a man of experience and that's what the ticket needed, experience! Obama/Biden in '08!

Earmarks are something that every politician tries to get. Some earmarks are good and some earmarks are bad. No one should lie about it. McCain tries to come off as an earmark virgin.

Over the last six years McCain has voted $144 billion for earmarks. McCain has voted for 4 out of 5 Bush budgets loaded with earmarks. If McCain request earmarks he should not lie about it. Lying seems to be his second nature.

I just saw the polls for Michigan, where I live, and Obama's up by a substantial lead. I live right outside of Detroit, to be more exact, and have, in the last several years, seen an industrial dynasty, the auto industry, brought to it's knees. I can't for the life of me figure out how people in MI would vote for a guy, Obama, who doesn't plan on drilling for oil in the U.S., compared to McCain who does. Doesn't logic say that if you drill for oil in America, the price of gas drops, and people here buy more American cars? On the other hand, if you don't drill in the U.S., which Obama never will, the price of gas goes way up, then people don't buy cars. McCain should have a 50 point lead at this point. Am I missing something here?

I'm sure Biden was looking at Katies legs, and not thinking correctly.

Michiganguy -- you are missing that people understand that even if we drill the oil will only last so long...people may be looking for LONG term solutions now. Obama pushes that idea more than more of McSame.
