Bill Clinton Feels Todd Palin's Pain
In an interview with Fox's Greta Van Susteren, former president Bill Clinton offered some advice to Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin's husband, Todd Palin, about being the husband of a powerful woman in the public eye. I think the trick is, if you're a husband and the woman is in the role, the political role, traditionally identified by - with men, the trick is to give support that is unambiguous and clear and to also be there with advice privately, but to do it in a way that doesn't, in a funny way, make her look weak.Clinton expressed his trademark empathy for Todd Palin, saying, "Whenever you start changing the deck chairs and gender roles and family roles, you have to be prepared for psychological, as well as political sparks to fly."
Clinton continued his outreach to the Republican ticket by saying that he believes Todd Palin is doing "just fine." Chris Rock, among others, challenged Clinton for his tepid support of Barack Obama on Late Night with David Letterman after Clinton praised John McCain and made multiple references to his wife's failed presidential campaign instead of spending his allotted time championing the cause of Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama.
During an unintentionally hilarious interview with Todd Palin last week, Van Sustern did not miss any opportunities to work in the words "first dude." TPM offers highlights of the segment.

Clinton is not supporting Obama. He has made it apparent that he still harbors sour grapes over his wife's defeat. He continues to praise McCain and Palin (nothing wrong with that) but says nothing about Obama. Do you see Rove, and the other Republicans tearing apart their own and praising the Democrats?

Now that the election is getting closer and Senator Obama, has momentum on his side, the pitiful racists and Republicans, are in total panic mode! The trash TV ads, the hateful remarks in other quarters, etc. etc.. Why don't these people do themselves some good and attempt to cleanse themselves of discrimination and bigotry, and just concentrate on the issues, the positions of the presidential candidates, and decide which person would be best for the country!
McCain, with his $5,000, plus, makeup job, his 7 plus homes, 13 cars (mostly, foreign) and his $300,000, plus, one wardrobe, show off wife, Cindy, is NOT the man of the people as he would like us to believe! Also, as the Conservative writer, George Will, wrote, McCain's choice of Palin was reckless, etc.. This showed that he only wanted someone to excite his base and could not care less about the country, should this person become president! And, my goodness, is Palin turning out to be weird--yes--weird! Just look at the pictures of her, standing in the front of the church, waving her hands, spouting all kind of odd statements, and, then, having some religious person, put his hands on her to rid her of "witchcraft". This beats her using her Down Syndrome infant as a prop, coming off the plane, etc.. She not only knows nothing, she is also a coward! Imagine-she wants to be, potentially, the Leader of the Free World, and, she cannot even answer questions! Her pal, McCain, is obviously putting in motion, thoughts of postponing the Vice-President debates, and using the Economy crisis, as an excuse--but--I'm confident, no one will allow him to get away with this. These two--McCain and Palin--are both, secretive, devious, etc. etc., and, both--yes--both, are really, weird, if you look closely at their backgrouond and present conduct.
Do the American people really want these two to have their fingers on the Nuclear button??????? Think about it--reckless, quick acting and non-thinking McCain, having his finger on the Nuclear button--or, know nothing, weird, Palin, having her finger on the Nuclear button!!!! Just writing, Palin having her finger on the Nuclear button, gives me shivers!
One last remark about President Bill Clinton, whom I like very much! Someone should tell him, in no uncertain terms, to just get over it! Hilliary lost and that's it! I saw and heard him in a recent interview and the bitterness, sour grapes and anger at his wife's loss, really came through! He should be bigger than that! It really does not help his legacy!
Senator Obama would be great for this country!
It would also show the world that we truly believe that every person, regardless of race, etc., has an opportunity to reach the highest goal.
Let's go forward with a new, young leader with his young family. Thank you.
