Where Was Sarah?

After the debate last night, I started flipping through the news channels trying to decide what postmortem to watch. One thing I noticed right away on Countdown, ABC, CNN was Joe Biden acting the animated surrogate for his running mate. Everywhere. I think he may have even done Fox! Heck, he may have come close to being on as many news shows as McCain was during his suspended campaign.

Then I started thinking, "where's Sarah?". I stuck with CNN and MSNBC until about 1:00 am and she never showed up in either place -- not that I think for a minute that she would have subjected herself to Keith Olbermann or Rachel Maddow. I must confess that I did not watch Fox that long - no surprise to my regular "readers". It was evident from my channel surfing that Giulilani was the McCain campaign's main post-debate spokesman.

It wasn't until this morning that my question was answered. Governor Palin was at a debate watch party! And not just at any party, one right across the river from me In Philly (h/t Atrios) at an Irish pub. From the Philadelphia Daily News:

Palin did not take questions from reporters nor did she talk policy. She posed for pictures and chatted with supporters, many of whom were from outside the city limits, and made an approximately minute-long statement.

"We have an opportunity to put government back on the side of the people and shake things up in D.C.," said Palin, who was garbed in a Phillies jersey, a white T-shirt and jeans with a leopard-print belt buckle.
Well, she seemed like she was having a good time. And maybe being in an Irish bar will boost her foreign policy experience prior to Thursday's debate.

Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. Please read our Help and Feedback section for more info.
