For anyone who hasn't been paying attention, John McCain might seem to be some kind of economic whiz kid who just can't get Warshington to bend to his superior judgment and pass some gosh-darn regulations. Although recent polls suggest that more and more Americans are getting the message, Brave New Films has put together a nice little reminder that McCain is a self-assessed novice on the economy, and a forceful opponent of government regulation of businesses.
The film cuts together pre- and post-crisis footage of McCain, and the contrast is stark. You would think McCain would try to smooth out the turbulence of his pivot somewhat, knowing that, in the age of Youtube, at least some kind of segue is in order.
The filmmaker, Robert Greenwald, will be my guest Thursday at 10pm on Unusable Signal, so you'll have a chance to ask him about the film yourselves.
Tommy Christopher co-hosts "Unusable Signal",on BlogTalkRadio, Tues through Thurs at 10pm, and Fri, and Sat at 11pm. (Eastern) Click here for the Unusable Signal homepage.
September 30, 2008 ACORN, Obama, and the Mortgage Mess By Mona Charen
The financial markets were teetering on the edge of an abyss last week. The secretary of the Treasury was literally on his knees begging the speaker of the House not to sabotage the bailout bill. The crash of falling banks made the earth tremble. The Republican presidential candidate suspended his campaign to deal with the crisis.
*******And amid all this, the Democrats in Congress managed to find time to slip language into the bailout legislation that would provide a dandy little slush fund for ACORN.

More CORRUPT ACORN and OBAMA
ACORN stands for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, a busy hive of left-wing agitation and "direct action" that claims chapters in 50 cities and 100,000 dues-paying members. ACORN is where Sixties leftovers who couldn't get tenure at universities wound up. That the bill-writing Democrats remembered their pet clients during such an emergency speaks volumes. This attempted gift to ACORN (stripped out of the bill after outraged howls from Republicans) demonstrates how little Democrats understand about what caused the mess we're in.

DEMOCRATS AND OBAMA CAN BE SO PROUD OF THEIR VOTER FRAUD
ACORN does many things under the umbrella of "community organizing." They agitate for higher minimum wages, attempt to thwart school reform, try to unionize welfare workers (that is, those welfare recipients who are obliged to work in exchange for benefits) and organize voter registration efforts (always for Democrats, of course). Because they are on the side of righteousness and justice, they aren't especially fastidious about their methods. In 2006, for example, ACORN registered 1,800 new voters in Washington. The only trouble was, with the exception of six, all of the names submitted were fake. The secretary of state called it the "worst case of election fraud in our state's history." As Fox News reported:
"The ACORN workers told state investigators that they went to the Seattle public library, sat at a table and filled out the voter registration forms. They made up names, addresses, and Social Security numbers and in some cases plucked names from the phone book. One worker said it was a lot of hard work making up all those names and another said he would sit at home, smoke marijuana and fill out the forms."
ACORN explained that this was an "isolated" incident, yet similar stories have been reported in Missouri, Michigan, Ohio, and Colorado -- all swing states, by the way. ACORN members have been prosecuted for voter fraud in a number of states. (See www.rottenacorn.com.) Their philosophy seems to be that everyone deserves the right to vote, whether legal or illegal, living or dead.

As previously stated...the author of this blog...Little Tommy Christopher....is firmly entrenched in the Obama camp...I don't know how the autoer/bloggers get away with the one-sided and biased nature of their blogs...unless it is with the blessings of AOL or Time-Warner. Little Tommy's pro-Obama crapola is sickening.
If you look on the survery appearing on tis side as I write the vast majority of respondents blame the DEMOCRATS for the mess we're in. They blame Dodd, Pelosi. Frank, and Obama! Obama could not even get the blacks in his own party to support the flawed and unwanted bailout!
This election has a long way to go...and in spite of those author/bloggers in here...wishful thinkers...McCain could easily win this election...or he could lose it...either way...after it's all over...the Little Tommy's of the world will have to go ourt and get a real job...there won't be much of a market for BSers.
Taxpayers...Americans thank McCain! In Washington, it’s a showdown between the representatives of Wall Street and the representatives of Main Street. But have you noticed that the old partisan alliances are reversed? It’s the Democrats who are now the Wall Street Party. And Republicans—with the conspicuous exception of President Bush—are now the Main Street Party.
Consider: President Bush proposed the $700 billion plan; after days of hiding behind the Secretary of Goldman Sachs, Henry Paulson, Bush finally emerged from the sidelines Wednesday night to tout the plan in prime time. Just this morning, he spoke again in favor of his plan, while again taking no questions from pesky reporters.
But the Congressional Democrats, who mostly despise Bush, are also mostly for the Bush plan. Sure, they made some cosmetic changes in the bailout proposal, but they have never wavered in their basic endorsement.
So who’s against the plan? It’s McCain and Congressional Republicans who are getting in the way. They are the heroes of the hour. Although outnumbered, these brave Capitol Hill GOPers have stopped official Washington in its tracks.
...and Obama...like his 130 plus "present" votes...and I quote "Call me if you need me."

Just Announced-------Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel are having a fundraiser for B. Obama WHAT FOR? Obama has more $$$$ in his war chest than anyone has ever accumulated running for the Pres. At this point in an election. The tickets will be $500- $10,000 each. Wouldn't the more heroic destination for this kind of money, in this economic crisis mode, be to give it to Americans losing their homes? Or Americans who go to bed hungry, Or Americans who can't afford medical care? Anywhere BUT more political advertising and gestoppo tactics to prevent truthful advertising on issues negative to you, like NRA. How About it Mr.s Joel, Springsteen and Obama--put your $$$ where your mouth is!!! Don't you want to be heros!?

The fundamentals McCain is referring to are the American Labor Force. You're darn right we are strong. We can't afford not to be. I am sick and tired of the Democrats telling us we a going to hell in a handbasket. We are America, and WE ARE STRONG! We don't need a criminal weasel like Barack Hussein Obama to "fix" anything. He has never fixed anything in his life! What we need is for Reid, Pelosi and Obama to move to Kenya or some other country who really is weak, as they are!

Bill Clinton states this economic mess is the Democrats fault!
John McCain, Bush and Palin couldn't even get a single member of their own party to vote for the bill they supported. McCain is not a leader. The only Alsakan representative who is a republican voted "No" and all the members from both parties from Arizona voted "No"
Emergency $700 Billion Bailout Votes
John MacCain/Sara Palin: Zero Yes and 9 No (100% No) ALASKA: Republicans — Young, N. ARIZONA: Democrats — Giffords, N; Grijalva, N; Mitchell, N; Pastor, N. Republicans — Flake, N; Franks, N; Renzi, N; Shadegg, N.
How come no one is talking about how the Government guaranteed the loans that no one could afford in part as predatory greed but also in fear of lawsuits from the Government if home were not given to minorities who could not ever qualify and afford them. Plenty of blame to around, but why is Obama drifting around the country like he had nothing to do with it.
His close friend a chief financial advisor can be found in congress getting grilled in 2004 when John Mcain wanted to kick his butt and straighten this mess out before it got to this point.
Why is Katie asking tough questions about why these two are so tight. If Obama's got any decency he would fire this guy who is gliding in to his future on a golden parachute. Itleast Mcain has the gots to fire someone and can be trusted to look out for the taxpayer.
I pray Palin takes the gloves and jackslaps those big boys who play the inside washington politics of old!

The economic disaster is Republican made but not to worry. John Mccain has said a number of times that the economy is sound. McCain has also said he knows little to nothing about economy and even his right wing Republican friends, Rush Limbaugh and the Wall Street Journal blasted Mccain for his dumbass remarks about the economy.

What do George Bush, John McCain and Henry Paulson have in common? They all said the economy was strong. They must be eating hash brownies and drinking LSD tea together while they are talking about the economy and briefing Sarah Palin what to say during her upcoming debate.

Just today, the billionaire dude who started Home Depot said the economy is strong, that's why we have been able to withstand this disaster. Besides banking and investment, there are still lots of industries in America that are fine.

sgjgroupie-- if you want freedom, vote McCain Socialism=vote Obama. Obama wants to take from the rich and give to the poor. And, rich is anyone making over $42,000. In order to do any of his promised projects, Obama is going to have to tax everybody.
