Don't you just love this Democratic "FUZZY MATH"? There is no way you can "spread the wealth around" without taxing the hell out of small businesses. By the way, small businesses generate 70% of ALL jobs in this country. Please, wake up America and understand how Obama and his socialist policies will sink our country into a much deeper hole.

Martin Eisenstadt, a McCain adviser, says not everyone connected to the campaign was thrilled with the invoking of Joe the Plumber during the debate last night. Why not? It turns out, according to Eisenstadt, good ol' Joe is related to Charles Keating. Yes, that Charles Keating, he of the Keating 5 scandal. Whoah:

They thought they had a real live Joe Six-Pack who's spurned Barack Obama's tax plan. But what they forgot to do was check on Joe Wurzelbacher's background.

Turns out that Joe Wurzelbacher from the Toledo event is a close relative of Robert Wurzelbacher of Milford, Ohio. Who's Robert Wurzelbacher? Only Charles Keating's son-in-law and the former senior vice president of American Continental, the parent company of the infamous Lincoln Savings and Loan. The now retired elder Wurzelbacher is also a major contributor to Republican causes giving well over $10,000 in the last few years.

And you thought this campaign couldn't get any weirder.

Obviously this revelation doesn't taint Joe the Plumber's reputation as a regular guy just trying to make a living in hard times. Lord knows you can't help who you're related to. But, as Eisenstadt points out, at a time when the increasingly desperate McCain campaign is trying to tie Obama to William Ayers, you would think they would avoid such an easy opportunity to be reminded of a scandal linked to John McCain.

I hate all this "he's a plant!" and guilt-by-association stuff. I saw an interview with "Joe the Plumber" this morning, and he said that people should do their own research and not listen to other people that tell them how to vote. Good advice for all of us. Some people vote their pocketbook, some have other issues that are more important to them. We all feel that our way is the "right" way. All this other stuff is just so much smoke and mirrors.

Before Clinton signed the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993, aka Deficit Reduction act, which raised the income tax rates on the top 39.6% and the corporate tax: 35%; Republicans said the law would actually increase the deficit and cause catastrophic damage to the economy and so... not a single Repub voted for it including McCain. Yet Clintons plan took the poor Reagan/Bush Sr. economy and the $290 billon dollar deficit that kept the dollar deflated and the economy weak; and turned it into a $236 billion dollar surplus making the dollar the most valuable currency in the world and the U.S. economy the strongest in U.S. history. McCain was wrong then and he's wrong now.

In 1992 when Clinton took the Presidency, Reagan/Bush economic policies had left a record 290 billion dollar deficit. After signing the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993 the deficit for 93 was lowered to $255 billion; in 94 it was lowered to $203 billion; in 95 it was lowered to $163 billion; in 96 it was lowered to $107 billion; in 97 it was lowered to $21 billion and in 98 we had our first surplus since Johnson left office with a $3 billion surplus. In 99 the surplus rose to $125 billion and in 2000, his last year in office, it rose to 236 billion dollars. Obama has said that he intends to follow the Johnson/Clinton economic plan, while McCain intends to follow the Reagan/Bush Sr./Bush Jr. economic plan even though they leave a legacy of financial down-turns.


At the end of 12 years of Reagan/Bush, Republican policy we had the Black Tuesday, the Savings and Loan crises, hyper-inflation and a sputtering economy. Now, after another eight years of Republican, supply-side, deregulatory economics, we are in a very similar predicament only this time it's worse. Republicans are bad for the economy we cannot afford McCain.

Senator Obama won the third debate and earned an A. Senator Obama was more presidential. He scored well on health, energy, jobs, education, abortion and Supreme Court. He had good answers about his economic plan. He stayed calm, decisive, smart, answered and responded directly to every charge and finished well.

It was McCain best performance for 40 minutes. Then he became the angry old grumpy Grinch and earned a D. McCain was wrong to state that small businessman "Joe the Plumber" would end up paying a fine if he refused to provide his workers with health insurance. Under the Obama plan, small businesses are specifically exempted from a requirement imposed on large companies that they contribute to a national health fund if they fail to make a meaningful contribution to their employees health care costs. He misstated too many facts on Obama tax and health plan. He spent too much time on personal attacks. He said he is not George Bush but he has been George Bush twin for 90 per cent of the time.

As a small business owner who "grosses" more than $250,000, I would reply that: absolutely a 3-4 person firm could gross that, but it is the net of the individual that is taxed. The business would need to NET over $250,000 for Joe personally for his taxes to go up. This would probably mean after employees, employee expenses, office expenses, equipment, vehicles and cost of goods it would have to be upward of $800,000 gross. At which point the little tax added becomes fairly miniscule.

Wow, Barrack Obama was so very articulate and focused in this last debate. He had a plan for the economy, had concrete tax initiatives (tax cuts) for 95% of Middle Class Americans, he named names and had supporters from both parties, he was intelligent in his speech, organized and logical. Definitely leadership material.

John Mc Cain has definitely lost his “edge” and I kept thinking that he reminded me of Grandpa “Simpson,” Homer Simpson’s father! (No offense to Abe Simpson) I am sure they told Mc Cain that he had to remain seated and he could not ”wonder around” like he did during the first debate. My gosh-what was he looking for? Mc Cain could have been a better candidate years ago when he was up to the task……but it should have been obvious to everyone that he is failing both physically and mentally. He has some major problems with memory and cognition and this puts America at risk because of his failing health. He was forgetful, repetitious, threatened, defensive and rude. He never answered questions but kept attacking Obama. He “whined” about being attacked in political commercials and would not take any ownership/responsibility for the negativity of his OWN campaign. His VP and campaign organizers have encouraged hatred, rage, intolerance and violence at their political rallies and he ONLY defended these negative tactics.

Mc Cain has NOT learned that the GOP “trickle-down” philosophy does not work. Mc Cain is NOT a “quick-study” and his arrogances and self-absorption interferes with his leadership abilities. Like they say, “You can’t teach an OLD dog a new trick!” This is very applicable to this situation because his policies are the very same policies of G.W. Bush. His voting record and support of Bush reveals this truth.

Mc Cain mentioned Reagan to get the sympathy vote! Nancy Reagan did not speak to Mc Cain for decades. She stopped speaking to Mc Cain when he was having his affairs (with Cindy & others). After he left his disabled wife and 3 children, their friendship was over. Reagan has been forced by the GOP to meet up with Mc Cain-she has said publicly that she has NO respect for him. I wish her well.

Mc Cain is NOT up to the task to lead this country. I am still waiting for all of his EXPERIENCE to come through….Part of me actually pities Mc Cain and I think it is time for him to move on to the next phase of his life- playing shuffleboard in a retirement community in Florida!

when you do that, the clayton act kicks in and stops CEO-board of directors cross contamination. CEO salaries will have to be once again related to performance, or the company, now trust busted and in competition to survive for the first time since 1980 will not remain competitive.
