It looks like the "World's Biggest Celebrity's" appeal extends beyond Berlin, to Missouri, USA. First Read is reporting that Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama drew his biggest US audience to date today, at a rally in St.
Louis.
You may recall that the McCain campaign tried to dismiss Obama's huge drawing power in Berlin as some sort of vapid fascination. It was a spurious criticism then, and it won't stick here, either.
There was also the attempt to credit Obama's record-breaking Portland rally in May to an opening performance by indie rock band The Decemberists. That crowd was "only" 75,000.
Perhaps the big draw here was the Red Schoendienst replicards being handed out to the crowd.
