The McCain campaign, headed by Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, has embarked on a new strategy. Not content to simply make their supporters view Barack Obama as their enemy, they have widened their attack to include huge swaths of this country.
Palin, at a fundraiser Thursday night, advanced the notion that only certain parts of this country are "pro-themselves." From WaPo:
This appears to be a coordinated attack on most of America by the Republicans. As I reported earlier, the McCain campaign followed up by saying that northern Virginia isn't part of the "real Virginia," and McCain's brother called it "communist country."
Then, there's this clip, of Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachman, urging an investigation into "un-American" colleagues in the US Congress.
This kind of polarization worked for the GOP in 2004, but a lot has changed since then. People seem to have wised up to the dangers of the "with us or against us" mentality. Most Americans, I believe, will be unwilling to elect a candidate who's only willing to reach across the aisle to deliver a slap in the face.

When I look at that picture from 2001 of Bill Ayres stomping on the American flag, I could throw up!
And, when I read Ayres' words from 2001 that said he was not sorry and wished he would have done more bombing. I was in disbelief!

Pleased to say, I am not one of the four people who still watch a Chris Matthews interview on MSNBC.
After Chris got "tingles down his leg" listening to Obama, I did not want to see Mathews embarrass himself if he "tinkled" on his leg while talking about the Messiah. Give me a break!!

Karl Rove must have been hired by the McCain campaign over the last couple of weeks, or it may be a disciple. McCain, unable to win on merit, has resorted to the same smear tactic that ended his presidential bid in 04. McCain and his surrogates are dividing the country, using words/phrases such as "pro-american areas of the country," "anti-american liberals," "real" Virginia vs. Northern Virginia. Incendiary and hateful remarks can incite discouraged voters to act out, as in the situation of an African American camerman from a news org who was tossed out a Palin gathering. It appears that we did not learn lessons from the last 8 hateful years of GW, Cheney, and Rove. I hope and pray that it does not go any further south before we reach the point of no return.

Congresswoman Michele Bachman, Sarah Palin and others that think like them are right wing nuts from the lunatic fringe. They make Communist hunting Joe McCarthy look like a choir boy. They, like so many other McCainites, are brainwashed and living in a fantasy world where they think McCain and Palin have never done anything wrong and everyone is lying on them. They view Senator Obama and his supporters as demons out to destroy America. It is their right to believe this way and it is their right to seek treatment for their convoluted mentality.
The team of McCain/Palin is losing and the team of Obama/Biden is winning and that is a fact. Hopefully they will see their mental health worker and renew their medication for depression. By the way President Obama will have a good mental health plan for the McCainites.
McCain is doing and saying all the right things to make sure that Senator Obama win the election. Sarah Palin is the best thing that could have happened to the Democrats to make sure that the Democrats win the White House and both Houses of Congress. Since Palin has become a SNL living cartoon the question will be, How are you going to keep her up in Alaska now that she has got the acting bug?
