Politico
reports that Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin's wardrobe and accessories were lavished on her by

the Republican National Committee, to the tune of $150,000.00 in September alone.
The Republican National Committee appears to have spent more than $150,000 to clothe and accessorize vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and her family since her surprise pick by John McCain in late August.
The report goes on to explain that Palin's threads came from retailers like Sak's Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale's. The expenses included nearly $5000.00 for hair and makeup.
There are a few problems I have with this story. Obviously, taking money from Joe the Plumber, a
McCain donor, and spending it on decidedly un-sixpack-ish designer clothes isn't great for Palin's down-home image. It certainly doesn't square with her "unscheduled"
photo op stop at a Wal Mart to pick up generic diapers. (h/t

Then, there's this:
The entries also show a few purchases at Pacifier, a top notch baby store, and Steiniauf & Stroller Inc., suggesting $295 was spent to accommodate the littlest Palin to join the campaign trail.
$295.00 out of $150K? If that was me, I'd get a stroller with some spinners and an HDTV in the headrest.
